After struggling to find a place with crab on the menu in Penzance we drove on to Newlyn. There is a car park a short walk away which seems a rarity here. Great welcome for a large party with friendly staff. Specials board was very tempting. Service was great and the food was fantastic. We tried crab salad, crab soup,... More

3 of us driving to Penzance looking for an evening meal and decided to go via Newlyn Harbour in case there was somewhere. Passed the Red Lion average looking local pub and saw restaurant nearby so decided to go there. Very close was public car park pay and display. Walked back to the restaurant but didn't look busy so looked... More

Lovely pub. Friendly staff and the best homemade food ever. The rest of the party had fish pie and it looked fantastic. Definitely come again next year. Cheers.

Amazing crab soup with garlic bread, large glass of white wine, £10.50.... all in! Good, honest local pub, with locals spending the evening with friends. Monday night in June. Just the business.

We came across the Red Lion pub while looking for somewhere cheap and easy to eat and have a drink. It fitted both bills perfectly. Between us we had very tasty fish/scampi & chips and a mackerel salad. There is a hidden garden at the back of the pub and the whole place is on different levels and quite quirky.... More

Now this is a Newlyn pub, straight and honest, with a fine step of locals enjoying the facilities. But we were there because our holiday host had recommended it and it was famed locally for its crab soup. So we ordered some, and we were bowled over. The taste and texture were restaurant class, just stunning. So good we went... More

Highly recommend this pub for its food. The catch of the day in tempura batter was cooked to perfection; crab salad had a huge portion of locally caught crab; lasagna was moist and flavourful and the children's meal was a very generous size. We sat in the garden at the top which was peaceful and secluded. Friendly staff and very... More

Visited here with my family, it's a small pub with not many seats for dining, don't be put off, the staff were lovely and friendly, the food was very nice a small menu but we had no problem choosing something to suit each one of us, the pub had a great atmosphere, I recommend a visit here.

Don't be mislead by this 'drinkers' pub. It is small (very) and only has three tables. The menu is quite small although had plenty for our group to choose from. The food was excellent, well presented, cooked and very tasty. Service was very friendly and efficient. I have no hesitation recommending this location.

We were referred to this pub which sits on Newlyn Harbour by our B & B host. The front bar is a little unwelcoming to outsiders but if you walk up the stairs to the seating area toward the back of the pub it is very pleasant. Our meals of fried monkfish and one of cod steamed on the BBQ... More
