You can't visit Penzance without visiting Jelberts ice cream parlour/shop in the nearby village of Newlyn. They only do one flavour of ice cream Vanilla. That's all you need. That keep it simple & delicious including a flake & clotted cream. Prices are reasonable from under £2.00 & friendly staff to serve.

After another fantastic year eating Jelberts famous Clotted Cream ice Cream, we have been so many times this year, the last one being the other day, I was able to bring my Ice Cream home with me along with the fresh Clotted Cream and I ate it at home but you cannot beat eating it by the side of the... Probably the best vanilla ice cream you'll ever taste. The queues outside the door of this unpretentious little shop are testament to the popularity and quality of the freshly made ice cream direct from the farm. If you are in Penwith make the effort to seek out this little gem of a shop and have a vanilla ice cream (the... More

Cannot walk past Jelberts without popping in for an ice cream , the beauty of this place is simply the ice cream and the choice of home made vanilla ice cream in a tub or cone, with or without flake or clotted cream. Nice and simple without loads of flavours, cone types and toppings to choose from, and reasonably priced... More

Good quality ice cream at a really good price. I didn't think it was spectacular to be honest. Love the idea though - completely home made and 1 flavour. Simple!

Always a bit of a que especially on a hot day in the summer but always worth it. The ice cream is amazing and is very reasonably priced.

Whilst on holiday in the area we asked where the best ice cream shop was and were promptly directed to this shop. It is very basic not what we were expecting but I can assure you the ice cream only vanilla was great and what's more you can have a dollop of clotted cream on top what's not to like.

Home-made and well worth seeking ice cream. There's nothing more to be said really. The queue outside says it all.

A shop which is a Newlyn institution by selling one product, home made vanilla ice cream. Maybe a flake, wafer or clotted cream but nothing else! Cones, but I recommend a big tub.

Ice cream made with simple good quality Cornish ingredients. Been coming here for over 40 years as alittle girl being taken here for a treat. You don't need any other flavors, or fancy shop fittings. Just experience the proper ice cream the Cornish way. Other "parlours" in Cornwall charge the earth for "locally made ice cream" but this is the... More
