Called in here after climbing the hill to see the Cerne Giant. As early evening said did not normally serve sandwiches but as we didn't want big meal, they very kindly did make us some sandwiches, which were freshly made, nicely presented and much appreciated.

Stopped here on our way back home on Bank Holiday Monday. Wow, what a great pub. Looks dull and dingy from the outside, but that's down to the buildings architecture, inside is semi-gastro pub style and dog friendly. And now for the food ... Steak and Ale pie, beautiful, baked in a enamelled pie tin with a short crust pastry... More

Made a booking for a group of 15 of us to visit only an hour before and the giant inn were happy to accommodate us. Good menu, generous portions everyone was pleased with their meals. Now the best part.... The puddings!! I had the malteasers cheesecake which is hands down the best cheesecake I have ever had. Other popular deserts... More

Superb beef and excellent lamb. A Sunday roast that would be difficult to bettered apart from slightly overcooked vegetables. Service was good but a tad excentric !!

Popped in for a pint and a meal, very pleased with both. A choice of 4 decent, well kept, ales. The food was down to earth at a sensible price. £10 for two courses. Staff were friendly, place clean and well kept, cannot fault it, I will be back :)
