Right on the sea, lovely menu served by lovely people. It's 10 mins from main road if you're doing the Golden Circle and it's a MUCH nicer road back into either Keflavik - for the Blue Lagoon- or back into town Theresa local fisherman provides...More

We were two families with 4 teenagers which had decided to dine at the beautiful location with the spectacular view. Shortly after being seated we got handed menus but with the warning that two of the courses were not available, which can surely happen at...More

Visited on a quiet afternoon in July. After a long day driving and sightseeing on the South Coast, it was lovely to relax in this beautiful restaurant, sat right on the beach. The ceiling makes it feel like an upturned boat (although the stuffed seabirds...More

This turned out to be our favorite restaurant in Iceland. It was off the very well trod Golden Circle path and we stumbled upon it with advise from a local. The view of the sea and the black sand beach was fabulous. And it is...More

Called in here on a Monday evening. Very quiet, no reservation needed. Only one lady serving but she was very pleasant and served at exactly the right speed. Ordered fish and chips. Bread arrived, and water, bread was with nice home made tapanade. Main course...More

Good food in a beautifully designed space. The dining room is like a ship's prow full of windows -- one side faces the ocean, the other a mountain-ringed river. The meal was delicious and a relative bargain by Iceland standards -- the bill for our...More

Excellent and reasonable lunch (by Icelandic standards). Very pleasant waitresses who was attentive. Star of the show though was the panoramic views across the Atlantic Ocean.

Sitting on a narrow strip of land between the estuary at the Ölfusá River and the open North Atlantic Ocean, Hafid Bláa offers up spectacular panoramic views with your meal. On a clear day you can see at least four active volcanoes, including Eyjafjallajökull and Hekla, and out to the Westman Islands. The location on the south coast between Eyrarbakki and Thorlákshöfn makes a convenient stop on your Golden Circle, South Coast, or Reykjanes Peninsula trip. The menu focuses on fresh seafood, including lobster (langoustine) and fish and chips. Or enjoy the view with a cup of excellent coffee and homemade cakes.
