this is the kind of place you want to review asap. Fine food, reasonable 'islandic' price and nice waitress. So far so good. But the highlights are the astonished location, really worth the trip in island. Windows over the black beach and the sea. High...More

We came her after a long day traveling, just by walking in I felt ... this is bad. The food was bad, cold, badly presented and small portions. NO music only the sound of two old coolers. Only one waiter and one cook. Terrible place...More

Based on the reviews we had read which were overall ok for this place, we drove almost 40 minutes from our hotel on the Golden Circle to eat a seafood dinner. The setting was beautiful but it seemed odd only 3 or 4 tables were...More

We were driving around the Reykjanes Peninsula and happened upon this place. It is not well marked - up on a little rise outside Eyrarbakki. We found it entirely by accident. The restaurant itself is beautiful - lots of blond wood and large windows overlooking...More

Thanks for visiting us! We work hard to make our guests happy, and sometimes we're busier than expected and the servers have to work extra hard until backup arrives :) We're lucky to have an excellent craft brewery nearby, about 20 minutes away, and we...More

Description
**Closed for the season, re-opening in February. Thank you for another great year! See you in 2019!** Sitting on a narrow strip of land between the estuary at the Olfusa River and the open North Atlantic Ocean, Hafid Blaa offers up spectacular panoramic views with your meal. On a clear day you can see at least four active volcanoes, including Eyjafjallajokull and Hekla, and out to the Westman Islands. The location on the south coast between Eyrarbakki and Thorlakshofn makes a convenient stop on your Golden Circle, South Coast, or Reykjanes Peninsula trip. The menu focuses on fresh seafood, including lobster (langoustine) and fish and chips. Or enjoy the view with a cup of excellent coffee and homemade cakes.
