Recommended by a friend as good value and good food. They were spot on. This is classic local pub in the Dorset tradition serving good food from local sources at reasonable prices. The owner is a great publican and he is backed up by great staff. Lots of tables and room at the bar and lots of locals most on... More

I'm in the catering trade and one thing we all know is that you should avoid Mondays and Tuesdays at restaurants, however, eight of us turned up on a very quiet Monday night and all had lovely meals in a very nice setting. The food took a while despite it being quiet in the pub, but that just means they're... More

Visited this pub several times while at the campsite down the road. Food was excellent and would especially recommend the Sunday carvery. Staff and owners really nice and the food is excellent value

I have to give this a limited review as I only had a pint here, next time I will eat. The pub is very nice, the service is good, but the beer was a bit limited, I guess it must be a brewery owned or a tied pub.

Rang them from 10 minutes away despite on line booking saying they were full on a busy Saturday evening. No problem and we were squeezed in. Nice welcome, full of locals, and nicely bustling, but not too noisy. Nice menu selection, good value and good smiley table service. Just good stuff! The mussels in bacon and cider, and the pie... Pros: very close to accommodation, nice decor, close to good dog walk Cons: substandard food in relation to the price We were expecting a good meal here from other reviews, and as it is literally next door to the place we were staying it made great sense. This is not a cheap pub, though not unreasonable, but for the price... More

Went here for an evening meal and was impressed from the moment we arrived as it's a lovely old-fashioned pub. We received a warm welcome and were shown straight to a table and sorted quickly with drinks. There was an excellent, comprehensive menu and the food came quickly, was of very high quality and went down a treat. The landlord... More
