Had an evening meal here and then stayed for the monthly quiz. The meal was fine, perhaps the portions a little too big if anything but certainly edible. We would have liked them to be a bit hotter temperature as well but all in all quite acceptable. The quiz for charity was fun too!

We visited the Hunter's Moon two years ago and enjoyed ourselves here, a revisit was a must as we came to the area to visit friends. The food was excellent and so was the service, very friendly staff. It's just a great country pub with a good atmosphere. We left very late and I think they wanted to close but... More

Came here a few times and have been impressed every time! Would certainly recommend - especially the steak.

The Hunters Moon is a perfectly pleasant pub, not particularly atmospheric, and with a pretty decent food offer. The service was slow (as in the time taken between order and food on the table) but still attentive on the restaurant side. The food, when it came was "nice". I left with an overwhelming sense of it being "average", in other... More

Staying at the holiday cottages next door, so it would have been rude not to give it a try! Sunday lunch booked for the family and well worth it. Super starters, delicious carvery Sunday lunch with great choice of veg. Too full for a pudding, but the menu looked good for another day. Very friendly and helpful staff. All in... More

A two minute walk away from the cottages we were staying at next door so it made sense to try it. Pros: Dog friendly; reasonably priced beer; friendly barkeep. The decor was interesting but not overly old fashioned and the tables were clean with plenty of places to sit. Their home made pie was a hit with the other half.... More

Recommended by a friend as good value and good food. They were spot on. This is classic local pub in the Dorset tradition serving good food from local sources at reasonable prices. The owner is a great publican and he is backed up by great staff. Lots of tables and room at the bar and lots of locals most on... More

I'm in the catering trade and one thing we all know is that you should avoid Mondays and Tuesdays at restaurants, however, eight of us turned up on a very quiet Monday night and all had lovely meals in a very nice setting. The food took a while despite it being quiet in the pub, but that just means they're... More

Visited this pub several times while at the campsite down the road. Food was excellent and would especially recommend the Sunday carvery. Staff and owners really nice and the food is excellent value
