Average at best , we both ordered the cod as most of the fish on the menu was not available. It came very dry , overcooked & tasteless . The presentation was poor . Thankfully trip advisor reviews had recommended the home made chips ,...which we ordered and enjoyed. The desert was an enormous slice of biscuit cake , which we shared was very tasty & well worth the money. Constant queue outside ,so obviously popular , but ya get the impression they know that and that unfortunately that reflects in the standard of the food & service.More

Very popular restaurant, try to book in advance. The food was really good and so was service. We had an octopus salad and cod rice. All very tasty.

We insisted on eating lunch at this restaurant on an August day without being allowed to reserve, so eventually we ended up waiting for over an hour. We had been warned, though, so cannot complain too much. It was generally worth it, as the place...offers a nice vibe in the centre of Porto Covo, good traditional Portuguese food and drinks with reasonable prices. We had octopus, cod and sardines, which were all good, however not exceptional. Food served to other tables also looked good. The white wine was great as well as the dessert (biscuit cake). Generally recommend, but better skip it on busy days.More

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Seems to be a constant for Brazilians - most one star reviews stating arrogance, rudeness and poor service are from Brazilians. This says a lot about the spirit of the service at this place. Food was amazing, my compliments to the chef, but...it was amazing in the neighboring restaurants as well - without the taste of racism being left for desert.More

Best restaurant in Porto Covo. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is of great quality and very well prepared. Real home made food! In high season I suggest you book table a few days in advance because this place is always busy.

This is a nice place. Very friendly staff. We had Octopus and pork with clams. I was expecting a higher quality. They were both good but just not great. The clams were great but there were only six. Wine was nice. Staff was very nice....The people next to us waited a very long time for their food but ours was good timing. Maybe just an off night. Still recommended.More

Probably the best restaurant in Porto Covo. Popular among locals. Very good tapas, delicious octopus, perfect black pork and very tasty vegetables. We were three people and shared three generous dishes. Good local wine, friendly service and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended,

The restaurant we were heading to was closed but had read about this one so decided to try it - so glad we did and we got the last table it was so busy. Quite typical Portuguese food but so tasty. Homemade chips, homemade dessert,...delicious all the way. Waiter was flat out but we had a few laughs with him and he recommended a great wine (not expensive- actually nothing was expensive) All in all a great experience and would definitely go againMore

We were new to the area and surprised how popular this restaurant is in the evening. The service was efficient, with bread and olives quickly brought to the table. Menus were also available in English. The fish selection was extensive and we enjoyed fresh grilled...sardines and sea bass. The waiter was extremely helpful in showing the fish selection and offering advise about quantities required for 2 people. A really lovely experience and one I’d strongly recommend to others visiting Porto Covo.More

One of my top 10 favorite restaurant around the world. Everything was perfect every times we have been. The food is so generous, the quality and how they cooked it is amazing, the grilled fishes, the homemade French fries, and the dessert of the house...is just incredible. All of this for prices more than honest. I recommend this restaurant 1000 times !!! Can’t wait to come back to porto covo just for this restaurant !! Thanks for the amazing service :) Clo and QuentinMore

Homemade the way it is meant to be… meals prepared from scratch by a highly skilled team in the kitchen. No request is too much. The team attending to the clients is very knowledgeable and love to help the clients choose the right dish, accompanied...of course, if so desired, by the perfect fit wine. If you are looking for the high standing authentic Alentejano cuisine in a family restaurant without pretenses to feel at ease and cared for… this is the place to be. Paulo and his team will make you feel right at home.More

We were staying in Porto Covo for three nights and our accommodation recommended the restaurant. After reading the reviews, gave it a try and were not disappointed. We were lucky to get a table as we hadn’t reserved and the restaurant quickly filled up. Staff...were very friendly and helpful. My wife had the sardines and I went for the pork and clams. Unfortunately the waiter informed me the clams hadn’t arrived that day and asked if they could be substituted with prawns. When the dish came it was superb, prawns were some of the best I’ve tasted and my wife sardines were accompanied by a nice salad. We had a local dessert which we shared. Along with a bottle of local wine and water, the bill came to approx €36. Most enjoyable evening and when we are next in the area will definitely call in again.More

We ordered the grilled octopus and the mixed meat platter. These came with salad and chips as sides. We had a decent bottle of red wine from the local area that was recommended by the excellent waiter. His English was very good and he was...helpful in indicating the right amount of food to order for the table The octopus was one of the better foods I have had this trip. It had been cooked so that it had a the sauce charged on to it. It was also cooked perfectly in that it had the right consistency. I have never had octopus like it. I could probably eat it it at least 3 times a week it was that good. The meat platter was excellent and had a mix of beef and pork. These had been grilled with the same care as the octopus. The meal was reasonably priced and the food was delivered after a reasonable wait. My group enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant as we chatted and waited for our food.More
