This is our fourth visit to this family-run restaurant and hotel. The Milano family gives you a warm and gracious welcome. The food is locally sourced long before that became faddish, and the recipes have been handed down from generation to generation without missing a beat. This visit we had the best roasted baby goat we've ever eaten, delicious appetizers... More

We had a wonderfull diner, the home made focaccia and ravioli were the best we ever had. It was a quite evening so we got a lot of attention and explainings from the waiter.

Having read all the great reviews, our party of 7 ate here. We were extremely disappointed, the food was of a very poor standard and extremely expensive. The Owners were very hospitable but that hardly makes up for awful food - my advice eat somewhere else - anywhere else!!

As a wine writer, I was very impressed by the wines that Massimo chose for us to accompany the traditional dishes cooked by his charming wife, who even let us into the kitchen to watch her at work. Despite visiting many top wineries, some of the best wines of the trip came from Massimo's cellar. Massimo made every effort to... More

We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed meeting and spending time with Massimo and his family. We had changed our plans to have dinner and stay with Massimo based on some friends' recommendations and are so happy that we did! Our experience was one of the best of our trip and reinforce why we love to travel and meet... More

For traditional recipes prepared with local ingredients and served in a casual but elegant setting, Ristorante Cacciatore outshines any meals we've had elsewhere in the Piedmont and perhaps in all of Italy. The cooking is simple and restrained, always respecting the ingredients. The wild duckling we've had here is the best we've had anywhere; the homemade pastas are cooked to... More

This lazy little village in the middle of no where is the home of one of the best secrets in Piedmonte. Massimo is a gentle and passionate owner of a 5 generation place. Grandpa and Grandma still working and haven't changed a bit in 15 years. We have been going here every chance we get from Switzerland, U.S. and now... More

Massimo is a wonderful host with knowledge of wine parings that are superb. The 5 generation restaurant is more than you will expect. In 1996 or 1997 it was in the Wine Spectator Magazine and that is how we first stumbled across Cartosio and fell in love with the family, food and wine, and have been going back for 14... More
