Looks like a very posh restaurant, but the prices are relatively affordable.
Staff is professional. Trained, polite service which you don't get everywhere.
Food is tasty, good portion. Local wines are a treat.
The Kekes restaurant is modernly decorated and very neat. Based on my experience the food is, however, very modest. I ate roasted Pike-Perch with dill potatos. Fish was deep-fried and tasted mainly for fat.
The waiter was friendly but did not speak English and wanted...for some reason to speak only the German what I do not speak (??).More
When we ate here we were the only three guest in the entire restaurant for at least the 90 minutes we spend here. The food was good, but the ambiance was lacking. It felt a bit like they thought bigger was better.
All in all,...the price/quality was good, and I enjoyed the food as did the other guests I was with.More
Soups were deliciois place is clean and looks like newly restored cozy interiour. Staff is awesome very tentative. Wiener sitzel is huuuuge ! 2 of us couldnt finish one! Prices are not cheap but not expensive either. High class place would come again to eat...here.More
If this place were in Western Europe it'd have a Michelin star. Too quality food, beautifully presented. We liked it enough to make a special journey back to gyongyos just to eat there again.
With hungary's drink drive laws so strict I can't tell you...about the wine list, but the food was crying out for a glass of something lovely to accompany it. We made do with water.
Service was very friendly and efficient.
The only real issue is that the place was empty. In fact gyongyos was pretty empty. It's a lovely place, again if it had been in France the central square would have been thronged with people, and this restaurant packed. But not in Hungary it seems.
Easily the best food we had during our entire visit. Pricier than other restaurants, but still ridiculously cheap for what you are eating. Three courses of top flight food for less than £30 a head. Unbelievable.More
Outstanding food in a lovely restaurant. Amazing menu which was also helpfully in English. No English spoken but I managed with German. Glorious food at amazing prices (for UK travellers anyway). Attentive but not overbearing service, friendly, eager to please and explain the food to...us. The best goulash I have ever had, preceded by an amazing foie gras creme brulee. Just outstanding. Sadly not washed down with local wine - drink driving rules (sensibly) very harsh in Hungary.
Go find this place and treat yourself to first rate food (huge portions too), all local produce and Hungarian dishes, with lovely staff and a generally easy atmosphere. A real treat. Will try to come back for sure.More
