4 of us out for a birthday meal and what a gem of a place this. We had to book which is always a good sign and on arrival it’s chocker with locals enjoying the ambiance and the food. The food was absolutely delicious and monster portions. The service was brilliant and our attempts at pigeon Spanish was complimented on. 10 out of 10 from us.

Great restaurant at the beginning of the Paseo in Caleta de Velez. Great food, value for money, wonderful staff, attentive without being intrusive. Be prepared to have a long wait when it gets busy, around 2pm, as meals are cooked to order. We usually book for about 1pm, before the main rush begins. We also have the menu Del Dia as it is exceptional value. For two of us, at the weekend, we had a 3 course meal, aliola & bread, coffee and 2 drinks for €35? And we left feeling very satisfied. Would definitely recommend.

Unbeatable place to eat.
We have known him since 2018 whenever we come to the coast we pass by here and he has never disappointed us

The restaurant is located opposite the beach. Because of the good reviews we were curious. Our lunch started with venus shells. Really....these were top notch. We hoped that this was the harbinger of a beautiful mix of grilled, diverse types of fish. No, I don't. There was some rosado on the plate, 3 embryo sardines, 2 mini calamaritos and 2 pieces of imitation crab.
The plate of grilled vegetables also contained grilled fruit. Very strange. All in all, a big setback. Stripped-down dishes.
The Tinto de verano came from a bottle....?....and the waiters were in a hurry. Did we end up in a tourist trap after all?

This place advertises that their kitchen in open non-stop from 11.30am. Having not had breakfast, we decided on an early lunch and as this place had good reviews we thought we would give it a go.
There were lots of large tables reserved so clearly they were going to be busy a little later.
We ordered from the daily menu, so three courses with bread, all good. Service initially seemed OK, orders taken and drinks brought over, although staff were still cleaning around the other tables.
Our first course came and was nice but then we sat there whilst several staff members walked passed without clearing the starter plates, eventually they were cleared. Mains took a while to come out, however I heard the kitchen service bell banged at least four times with increasing urgency and as we were the only ones eating, our mains had been waiting a while before they were brought out.
As we were eating the cleaning continued with one member of staff continuing to mop the path right next to our table, in fact she was stood between mine and my husbands chairs at one point whilst we were eating. Looking at a dirty mop whilst eating your lunch is not an ideal experience.
Because of this we declined dessert and coffee and asked for the bill, ten minutes later I had to go in to pay and again was asked if I wanted dessert.
If you are not prepared to offer your customers a proper dining experience without dirty mops being brandished around their feet, then open later.

This is another of our regular lunch locations because the food and service are good. Paco and his staff make every visit a pleasure but they can get very busy which may slow the service a little. One has to admire the work ethic of all the staff who do put their heart and soul into it. The menu is now 10 euros which consists of three courses although drinks are extra so budget 15 euros per person. The starters are huge and my favourites are the bacon salad, avocado and prawn, gazpacho or porra. There are usually seven starters and mains which change daily so it is not difficult to find something to please everyone.

My parents used to live in Caleta and ate here very regularly. I have great memories.
Great location and great atmosphere. Late lunch on a Monday in June. The restaurant was packed. When you arrive the greeting is a welcoming hand shake. Good choices on menu Del dia and great food.
Best prawn pil pil ever. Large fresh salad starter. Beautiful pork.

Great service and food once again.
Due to the pandemic haven’t been for over 18 months. I was still not disappointed. Met by the friendly owner Paco and shown to our seats which we had reserved.
They still do the comprehensive menu del dia, but now the menu is on the table, no more going up to blackboard and photographing it.
We decided on the al la carte.
Reasonable prices with drinks. Worth a visit you won’t be disappointed.

We were here with friends in January and the four of us liked it very much. We try to improve our Spanish and like to order in Spanish. The waiter was very friendly and patient. Nice typical dishes from the region. W'll be back to taste more.

We went to the Eclipse restaurant several time and had fantastic service and lovely food each time, we could not have asked for more.

We went for lunch - we were lucky because we hadn’t booked but they managed to accommodate the six of us. The service was fantastic and the food excellent - especially the seafood.

"Ensalada Eclipse" is the best salad I have ever had at a restaurant! I look for a few different things in a restaurant, first off being the quality of the food. Service, atmosphere and price are also important, and the Eclipse imho is the best restaurant in the region. Great service, direct sea view on the beach, and exceptional food for reasonable prices.
