Eaten here on a number of occasions. The menu and food quality is good value and the venue is a nice environment with helpful table service. However a major disappointment is the welcome received at the bar when advising of your arrival. The bar staff...More

This is my second visit to the Duke of Wellington, both times for a group dinner with work friends. Food is better than average and the service is good. Love the decor and general ambience and would highly recommend.

Dear Lee. Firstly this is most definitely not typical of the service we deliver. Our staff are ordinarily very welcoming at the bar. I am concerned this was not the service you received and will be investigating. It does appear like the delivery of her...More

Description
IT'S been a battle - but the Duke of Wellington has emerged victorious once again. Just weeks before the 200th anniversary of the original Duke's historic triumph over Napoleon at Waterloo, The Duke at Stanwick has beaten the builders and has opened its bars and kitchen. The 19th century hostelry has been closed since the end of last year to undergo major renovations. And now, under the ownership of the Vaz family, will be taking hospitality into the 21st Century. Now it's probably the best and most state-of-the art pub in Northamptonshire - and certainly the best pub in the village! Our head chef has recruited a team of crack chefs who intend to fight for top culinary accolades, while our manager has been signed from an internationally-renowned country house hotel to lead our charge to new heights of hospitality. We look forward to you trying us out. And filling your boots. We promise to fight for your custom.
