We recently visited this restaurant after asking our hotel for a good seafood restaurant recommendation. Food was lovely and staff very friendly. Had a lovely bottle of Croatian red wine which the waiter advised us on. Bit pricey but well worth it.

Konoba Nikola was recommended by our hotel to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday and it certainly didn’t disappoint!! It’s a small and intimate restaurant - easy to get to from Split by bus or taxi. The waiters were friendly and professional - as with most...places in and around Split, their English was impeccable and they explained all the available fish & seafood. My husband had “the best squid” he’s ever had and I had the veal medallions in mushroom sauce - which was divine! Highly recommend this restaurant!More
The restaurant only has an inside seatingplace. However, this didn't bother us as it was airconditioned and niceley decorated. They brought a cart to the table filled with fresh seafood we could choose from. Two of us chose the red snapper which was delicious. The...seafood and scampi pastas were also very good! We really enjoyed our meal!More
We went to this restaurant recommended by Apartman Silvi, Podstrana. They told that Konoba Nikola is a very good fish restaurant. We booked a table for 6 people, It is not good it is excellent. We never eat so good and fresh fish like by...Nikola. We order several courses all what the waiter recommended. All of us was happy with our order, and the fresh fish was for 5* ... Each time we are in Podstrana or Split we go to Konoba Nikola... if you ask me what is the best , my answer ALL!!!More
We went to this restaurant, according to a reference, a fancy fish restaurant. We arrived without having made reservations. Normally it was fully booked but as people didn’t show up, we received a table. It seemed there was a little party according to singing and...music. The waiter Antonio received us, and noticed we were not really comfortable choosing our dinner. He made us some propositions with mixed tastings as starter and for the complete meal. Antonio came with a chariot to show us the fresh fish and possibilities. What a luck we trusted him and we were open to taste these delicious local products. Really amazing terrific food. After all it seemed that it was the bosses birthday. Even though we “refused” desert as we were fully satisfied of the delicious food, we received pieces of the birthday men’s cake. What a perfect evening. I forgot my wallet and Antonio took his car to look for us, without any chance. We want back for it, and it was save and sound conserved and put away. Definitely a recommendation to have lunch or dinner over there!More
We were recommended this restaurant by a taxi driver and then checked the reviews, it seemed worth a shot. It absolutely was worth it!!! The service from the staff matches the quality of the food. Outstanding!! We had several courses all of which the staff...recommended (not off the menu), presentation was fab. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Split.More
Smashing place with a great variety of food with beautiful outlook across the Marina to the mountains. Staff were lovely and helpful. Try the Chard.
We visited here following a recommendation on our airBnb review and what a pleasant experience it was. The food was simply amazing - we ordered from the fresh fish table and the waiter recommended the 3 courses that we were served. The starter - a...seafood platter with carpaccio tuna and swordfish and a seafood mix with octopus and vegetables - salmon pate. This was then followed by scallops and scampi and then mussels in a white wine sauce - all tasty and well cooked. For our final dish we had a whole grilled sea bass with mixed vegetables- again Devine. The pricing was reasonable at approximately £40 per head with good wine at £22 a bottle. I would strongly recommend you visit this restaurant as it truly was Devine.More
Booked the restaurant because of reviews. Expected a rustic place but were pleasantly surprised to find a charming old-world bistro with white linen table cloths in the cellar of a regular-looking family home. We skimmed through the menu but were presented with a cart-full of...the freshest fish of the day and offered a three course menu based on it, which we accepted. We asked for local sparkling wine and were served a great bottle of off-menu Croatian sparkling wine that fit nicely with the first courses. We drank a beautifully recommended Croatian white with the main. The courses were exceptional, all the fish was noticeably fresh. The scallops caught by a 72-year old former free-diving champion! The service was very professional, charming and friendly. This restaurant is absolutely recommended from a couple of foodies that have been through their share of Michelin mentioned restaurants. A must for any food-lover!More
Best restaurant in Croatia! Every time when we come to Split this is the place where we must go. The way it is served is so simple, authentic, but very special and yummy. I think because it's so fresh and served directly from the Adriatic...sea. I hope that my next trip here will be soon :)More
Fresh, tasty, full of flavours, that is what you will get every single time you eat at Nikola. Green vegetable soup cooked in fish stock. Tuna and scampi carpaccio, risotto with champagne and scampi. Grilled fish with asparagus. Round up all with fresh made crepes...with apricot spread. Great culinary experienceMore
This restaurant has a lovely quiet atmosphere, though no views as it's below ground. The food is magnificent and the service equally good, yet quite casual and friendly. You get to see the raw fish which they are serving. The scallops and lobster were still...alive! We asked for their recommendation of white wine and they asked what type we preferred. It was very good and a reasonable price. Great for a romantic meal. Highly recommend it. We went twice.More
The best seafood and the best service we have experienced in Croatia! It was the food highlight of our trip! From start to finish everything was perfect. The service was fantastic and food superbly prepared. Can definitely recommend for anyone visiting Split!
If you ask someone who is honest what is best place to eat fish and seafood in Split and nearby, it is definitly restaurant Nikola. There is no better place. Went there many times, always perfect food and ambient.
Took taxi from Split, took about 15 minutes. Go down some stairs, and there is restaurant. Very warm welcome, no menu, trolley brought over with fresh catch available, scallops, lobster, scampi, sea bass, sea bream etc. etc. The scallops are in their shells, alive, Adriatic,...at €10 each. We ordered tuna carpaccio to start, and scampi and sea bass as mains, my fish “about €35”. Some other tourists come to the next table, they are shown the trolley, but the wife insists on seeing the menu and, lo and behold, they bring a large menu over; we were never told about this. They did end up ordering much the same as us. And the fish was good. No meat was offered. The house red wine by the glass wasn’t very nice, I tried a different one and that wasn’t very nice either. We paid £120 for two people including wine by the glass.More
