If you haven't been to this restaurant you are seriously missing out. We've been living in an East Devon Village for a few months and we rate this restaurant HIGHER than the Pig at Combe. Impressive menu; excellent fresh, local food cooked to perfection; superb service; a wonderful ambience. We have been twice. We took our American friends there for... More

I had my 60th birthday lunch here and it was fabulous. I'd pre ordered Lobster which they cooked exactly how we wanted it. There were 4 of us one not being a fish eater and she had a wonderful meat dish. The host was amazing and the staff excellent. The wine was served at the right temperature and the desserts... More

We went to the Galley for lunch on NYE - our first time. There were only two other tables of diners when we arrived so the atmosphere was a little quiet. The decor and furniture is a little dated but the general ambience is quaint cosiness. The food and service was really very good indeed with just a couple of... More

We went to the Galley with friends for New Year's Eve and I have to say we were very impressed. The menu is fish heavy which worked well for us and they served a series of small bites before the meal which made for a very festive experience. I knew nothing about the place and frankly NYE isn't my favorite... More

Thank you for a lovely dinner! The hosts and staff are very welcoming, friendly, easy going and proud of their wonderful restaurant. Food is delicious, excellent quality (especially the fish!) and there are some classic as well as original dishes. You can come here for a romantic dinner, or with a group of family and friends.

Just had a fantastic lunch today with an old business colleague and as usual the food was excellent quality and great value for money. I have eaten at the Galley so many times now over a period of several years and it always exceeds expectations. The staff are very helpful and Nigel is always welcoming and a very good host.

We booked for lunch on December 13th, we arrived just shortly after midday and were the first diners there, very impressive menu even the set lunch selections were extremely good, three courses were available for £23. However such was the choices on the a la carte menu we decided to opt to make our selections from it, as you would... More

We decided to book dinner here after reading reviews on TA and it was everything we expected and more. The restaurant is not very big but at the same time it wasn't cramped and there was enough space between tables that you could have an intimate conversation without feeling like you were being overheard. The food was all completely delicious,... More

Description
Here at The Galley Topsham we want to impress you with 'the best of Devon on a plate'. We are passionate about serving you the freshest fish and seafood, simply and stylishly presented, together with exciting meat and vegetarian options sourced from local farms so we think we have something for everybody. We have a daily changing menu which means we only serve what is in season and locally available, so you can be sure that what you are eating is of the best quality. Our a la carte menu is available at lunch and dinner. At lunch we offer a special menu of two courses for £16. So whether it's a long lingering dinner, a light lunch or a business engagement we have something to suit you. We love wine and have worked hard to create a balanced wine list that includes top favourites along with some interesting options you may not be so familiar with. We are very happy to recommend a wine to go with any of our dishes so please do ask. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed and friendly. We have no dress code and we warmly welcome families with children. Great food is nothing without great service however and we put a huge emphasis on matching the service to your needs. Nigel is on hand front of house to greet you with a friendly smile and make sure you relax and enjoy your meal. With our unique location on Topsham Quay and fabulous views over the River Exe you can soak up the atmosphere of this ancient sea port from the comfort of our two dining rooms.
