Called in on way home from seeing Red Arrows in Sidmouth and we were looking forward to trying somewhere we hadn't visited before. Waited nearly an hour for two simple meals that were on the specials. Others served before us that had ordered after. Clearly there was an error by staff but no-one owned up and let us know what... When staying in nearby Colyton this place was recommended to us and we're so glad we made the short trip over to it. The food was very good and the staff very attentive. We made our booking last minute but they could accomodate us no problem. The chips are huge and the steak was great. And both desserts were amazing... More

My companion and I dropped in to the Wheelwright Inn by chance on our way back from Beer. Although the Inn was busy the staff went out of their way to make sure we had the next available table and looked after us while we waited. An excellent touch as other establishments would have just told us they were full... More

Called into this lovely inn on Sunday 7th August. ..had a flavoursome, well filled, quality granary prawn sandwich served with lovely fresh salad and sweet potato chips...very good food, spotlessly clean bathroom facilities with good selection of complimentary essential toiletries..well done, we will be back asap

We reserved a table for 6 and were quickly seated in the small area between the bar and restaurant... Which was great as it was basically a private room for us! Our drinks order was promptly taken and although there was a delay on delivery due to low staff, as soon as they arrived the food order was taken. Food... More

Popped in in a whim and were not disappinted. Quirky interesting ornaments and nice decor, staff are friendly and make you feel at ease. Food was delicious and good value.

Good welcome , and dogs allowed in the bar area where the menue and service is the same as in the resturant . Very good menue . Drinks took a long time coming and there was confusion over size of meals ordered , but when they came they were delicious . They seemed a bit stretched , but maybe they... More

We visited this typical English Pub for only the 2nd time last week (as a birthday treat) and was not disappointed. We stumbled on the pub by chance as we were retuning from a day out in Devon ( going back to Dorset) with friends and vowed we would return, and we did. The food is absolutely first class especially... More

Much improved since our last visit, the food was good as was the service. Went to the music night on the Friday (for which we bought tickets) and the band was very good. Had meal again on the Saturday night - good pub grub all home cooked.
