This place in the small village of Lachania on Rhodes is the incorporation of a traditional Greek tavern like Western Europeans have it in their minds when they think about Greece. It is so lovely and was the highlight of our entire trip. The tavern...is located on a little square founded by natural tiles, next to a small church, surrounded by tiny white houses. The wooden tables are partially under sky and partially under the wooden veranda. There are nice trees and plants all over the place. The taste and the quality of the food is outstanding. The menu contains relevant Greek specialties and the dishes are all homemade with lots of love and passion. There is no dish to be highlighted, every single one is amazingly good. The quality of the meat is top, the vegetables seem just to be be picked from the gardens around. And the dishes are really cheap. Best value for price one can imagine. Summary: this is a „must visit“ placeMore

Wonderful food, nice location, great peoole and a funny one eyed cat ! Worth every penny .... not that you need so many of them. It is really fair priced and in a quiet corner. Just what you need after a day of sunshine.

I’ve read about this place on TripAdvisor and we were on a mission to find it. The sings every 10 meters or so made this very easy. We loved the food and the atmosphere. It felt like an authentic family run Greek taverna. We spend...a lovely afternoon enjoying the chilled local white wine and working our way through the menu. I would warmly recommend it to anyone that’s in the area.More

Didn’t expect to find such a stunning little taverna in such a sleepy little place. Set in a beautiful little square where you can sit in the sun or shade. Not many customers when we arrived, perfect timing to order our food and drinks, which...were delicious. My husband says it’s the BEST hummus he has ever tasted! Then a tour bus arrived...fabulous! A full restaurant. Thankyou for our meal 🍽🍻More

We have been customers for years now and both the food and environment are something else. Super tasty greek traditional food under the famous tree Platanos😍. In addition the prices are very affordable and I strongly suggest it to families and couples.

Lovely atmosphere and great food for a very reasonable price. Best hummus I’ve ever had, main courses were delicious, Chicken souvlakia and moussaka both were very tasty. Would highly recommend

We ate here twice while staying locally. It is a beautiful and traditional taverna in a very quaint village, which serves authentic and delicious Greek food. The family who run it are friendly and the service is great! Would definitely recommend Platanos!

Outstanding. Food, staff, setting - went twice. Don’t miss it. Loved the fact that the whole family were helping serve and it was the busiest Taverna we have been to in these awkward times.

We went twice to Platanos because it was close to White Village, two times we had very good food for a good price. The people who work here are very friendly and you will find fresh fish, nice local dishes and cold beer if you...like. Everything is made fresh and you just taste love. It's like greek mams cuisine. After the second time we even got a small gift, we felt really appreciated.More

You can get a taxi but the hotel is quite remote so you would be better to hire a car. You can hire a car from the Atrium. I would also recommend trying to book a table at Plantanos, it’s extremely popular with locals so can... More
