Pros: The water taxi ride over was beautiful and the captain was entertaining. Cons: Everything else. The food was really bad. The buffalo shrimp wrap had 4 tiny cocktail shrimp and some buffalo sauce on top, otherwise it was all lettuce. The pizza tasted like...bad frozen grocery store pizza. I actually think that is what I got. I definitely understand the impact both COVID and Ian has had on the area. But they are advertising a sunset special with these great food items, then you drive to the middle of nowhere, take a boat to get there, and find their menu is totally different. And that it has been for some time and management knows it and refuses to update their site. Very disappointing.More

We took the water taxi over after kayaking Don Pedro Island and we enjoyed the atmosphere and meal. We were disappointed that Coconuts was closed though!

Uses to be good ...ask for sunset menu and was told they didn't have it since covid but still listed on their website...said they couldn't fix it???..I ordered ribs with fries and slaw...wife got shrimp tacos...ribs were days old with cold fries and warm slaw!!!...Tasted them and almost puked..wife's shrimp tacos were terrible also..send back the food and didn't want anything else they had to offer. Will never go there again and am telling you to stay away too..the menu is so limited they might as well not even serve food...needs new management or shut down the place...sad because for 20 years we would go and have nice meals but no moreMore

We've been coming to Rum Bay on and off for over 20 years, but this last visit was the first since Covid and Hurricane Ian, so we're trying to take that into account. All of the staff were excellent and helpful. Captain Dave was awesome...and helped us see the local dolphin and osprey. No complaints at all there. The water taxi ride from Leverock's was enjoyable as always. The menu was very stripped down and didn't match the larger menu on the website. We had hoped to do the two for $24 special we saw online, but it wasn't available. The food overall was decent, but not as good as we remember in the past. Seems like maybe they've gone downhill a little over the years.More

I went for dinner recently and experience was not good. Many items on menu were not available, Service was very slow and closing hour was 8pm. I went to the mainland the next night, and had a great experience with a local restaurant that was...open until 10pm. Rum Bay use to be a restaurant I would recommend; I do not know what happened.More

They advertise a Sunset menu that had 2 MEALS FOR $24. Took water taxi over and asked to see menu. We were told no longer doing this by waitress. Asked why it was still on website and were told the owner was aware of this....Sounds like a scam to get people over there then you're stuck after paying for water taxi. A disgrace. Buyer beware.More

We had a lovely water taxi ride from Leverock's restaurant on the mainland to this restaurant. The 3 mahi tacos with fries, mahi sliders, and fish and chips were delicious. Portions were very generous. A bit more seasoning on the mahi would be my only...suggestion. The servers were amazing and tended to the patrons efficiently with a smile . The host worked diligently to get patrons eating in a timely manner. The $6 water taxi round trip is only about 20 minutes. We will definitely be back.More

There was very little available that was listed in the menu - no sides were available as they had run out of them - no chicken of any kind - ordered hamburgers that came raw - the dates on 3 Mayo bottles was last October...- the restaurant is tired and dirty and awful food - the server was apologetic and said this is just how the restaurant operatesMore

Not that long ago I would have given this restaurant a four or even a five. It used to be consistently outstanding food and excellent value with great service, a dinning experience you would look forward to. The food menu isn’t half of what it...used to be and lots of great items are just not on the menu anymore. The fresh mahi sandwich for example is truely missed. Mahi slides are just not an acceptable substitute. Today I had the fish and chips and was very disappointed. The fish was mushy, and the french fries tasted like old bad oil. I substituted black beans for the coleslaw. The beans tasted like they just came right out of a can, no seasoning very bland. Other tables were offered grouper cheeks which were not on the menu. Our table was not offered Grouper cheeks, nor were we offered complimentary bread with homemade pineapple butter, Although other tables were. As we sat at our table waiting for our food, which seemed like it took quite a while to get to our table, my wife and I found ourselves on our phones looking at menus for restaurants that we will go to next time we go out. Not likely to return back to this location until some better reviews are posted. I really hope they can get this place back up to the way it was.More

Used to be a nice place. They’re still trying to recover from hurricane Ian but the dining room was fairly dirty and nearly empty. I really wanted my wife to experience getting there by water taxi. It wasn’t running because of wind, so we took...the ferry. The current menu was not what’s on-line. We ordered burgers deciding to play it safe. The burger was very mediocre with a dry cheap bun. We got talking with the waitress about the hurricane and she told us the chef took the night off. It was a very disappointing experience.More

enjoyable casual meal on a Monday night. First time at this resteraunt and we were pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff. Casual atmosphere. Enjoyed their special rum mash drink (tasted like a piña colada to me!) and the fish tacos. both were good. Husband had the fish...and chips. Felt like a friendly local resteraunt where you can relax and have a simple and good meal. Will plan to go back and try the pizza.More

We picked-up the water taxi and had a delightful cruise to the island. Jon was a wonderful captain. The service was excellent. I ordered the half rack of ribs. The sauce was sweet and baked into the ribs perfectly. The meat was tender enough that...it fell off the bone. The coleslaw was creamy and tasty and the fries were a nice crunchy brown. Our friend had a juicy burger topped with blue cheese that was cooked to perfection. my husband had a lobster tail that he said was sweet and tender. If you like rum drinks--I highly recommend the Jamaica Me Crazy!More
