You can't go past Starlake for good Thai food. The wait for takeout can sometimes be long but it's always worth it! Eating in is good too, staff and service are great and we'd recommend the banquet menus if dining in a large group. Plenty of choice and plenty of food! It's also BYO which is a bonus :-)

This restaurant was first class. Lovely decor, very friendly, helpful staff and a good ambiance. It seemed to be very popular with locals, always a good sign. The menu was extensive and the food fantastic. Served in lovely Thai pottery which seemed to make the food taste even better! I would highly recommend this restaurant, a very pleasant experience from... More

One of the best Thai food experiences we had. You must try the Starlake special sauces accompanying the BBQ fillet and sweet and sour pork. Yummy.

Three of us shared a beautiful meal on a Sunday night. The menu was extensive, a little different and well presented. There was a good amount of food and the staff were very obliging. The meal we had was perfectly cooked and tasted fresh. Would definately return. Here.

Four of us ate here while visiting Hawkes Bay. Good meal had the mixed entree and prawn + pad Thai dishes. They made a vegetarian dish for one of us too. Great flavours prawns were perfectly cooked. Only small issue was the wait between entree and mains - seemed to take about 40mins. Would definitely eat here again.

We don't have many ethnic restaurants in Havelock North, but those we are blessed with are bliss and among them is Starlake Thai. Always busy, and so accommodating - sometimes having to juggle to fit us all in - which they invariably do. And then.... excellent range of local and ethnic beverages and excellent authentic Thai menu, delivering delicious tasty... More

We eat here quite regularly and also often have takeaways. The service is always pleasant and the food is good value with reasonable size servings.

We had tried two other Thai places in the area and they were mediocre at best. Our third try was a winner. Thai spring rolls hot and tasty and the dipping sauce was licksmaking. I had a curry coconut dish with chicken which was very good. Service was good and the ambiance very nice. I live in a city with... More

We had a fantastic meal at Starlake with our family of five. We decided to share several dishes. The first to come out was the Choo chew fish in red curry sauce. The Ocean Fish was more of a Chinese style dish so the ginger was subtle. The sauce was quite typical of a Chinese style sauce - quite thick... More
