I wanted avocado toast with eggs on top. I wanted either poached or over easy which the server told me I can only have scrambled eggs because the kitchen is too small to over easy eggs. This is the most ridiculous excuse I've heard. I...decided I'm not going to eat and just had my coffee I've ordered earlier. If I did not order coffee I would have walked out. I've been coming here for years and I love the desert and the sandwiches but do not come here for breakfast because apparently their kitchen is too small to make over easy eggs but not too small to make everything else.More

I had maple creme brûlée and it was excellent, albeit small! My friend had a slice of key lime pie and was pleased except for the really thick crust (almost an inch) in the back of it. What was disappointing is my friend’s water glass...got filled once, mine never did.More

Great selection of desserts, good service, friendly staff and books make Prairie Ink the best bookstore to spend your quiet weekend time. Very romantic and cozy. Hosts a number of book presentations and educational or entertaining events. Great place to read, work on you PC...or have a book date with a cup of coffee and dessert. The food menu is also top notch made out of local produce with budget friendly prices and healthy options.More

I have been treated to two lunches for my birthday. Each one was so fresh and tasty. You know the ingredients are top notch. The service is efficient but not intrusive.

My wife and I enjoyed dinner out at Prairie Ink, both of us having the pasta special. Our waitress, a very pleasant young lady, suggested that the pasta would be a good choice and she was right! It was served hot and on a hot...dish, which we truly appreciated. It was very simple, with a wedge of bread and butter as an accompaniment. The sauce was very tasty in all manner of speaking. I also enjoyed a District Brewing Bavarian dark beer on tap; excellent. As I said, our waitress did an excellent job of serving us and made our dinner out an enjoyable experience. I didn’t get her name (what was I thinking?!!), but she does have shorter hair that is a pinkish colour on top.More

After being food-poisoned there some time back, I reluctantly re-entered at my wife’s invitation. Watching the staff in the open kitchen made me realize how this had happened. One person shovelling raw shrimp with their bare hands, then looking at their phone. Then shovelling more...bare shrimp. Are you kidding me? Then another guy with bare hands shovelling croutons into a dish. No one wearing gloves. No one wearing hair nets. No one managing these clear health violations. McNally Robinson is one fine bookstore, but I will never set foot in that restaurant again. The staff is clearly oblivious to the fact that people can see this going on. It’s ridiculous and so is the poor management.More

Lauren was our server and she was amazing! The food...is prepared wonderfully! We will be back as usual!! Thanks again!More
