Great little bistro in the heart of lower town that we discovered thanks to trip advisor reviews. Great food and service and imaginative use of local ingredients in creative dishes served in decent portions accompanied by a good wine list

This is an interesting bistro-style restaurant in the lower level of Old Quebec, and not that large so it gets very noisy when busy. I was with a group that contributed to the noise level as we were 15 people, that being said the restaurant accommodated us well and the service was very good. I had a goat cheese and... More

This is a very nice version of a French bistro, located in Basse-ville (Lower Town). We had a group of five and everyone was satisfied with their selection. While they have many of the bistro classics that you would find throughout Quebec City, they add unusual twists that make the appetizers and entrees more interesting. Good wine list with some... The staff was very friendly and professional. The food was great (duck confit). Prices are quite reasonable--really good value for money

On a cold and rainy nigh, this hit the spot. It was unseasonably cold in Quebec City for early june, so we were fortunate to find a great reasaurant close by. The atmosphere, service and food were very good. I had an interesting take on paella, where they used pafppardelle noodles insead of rice. Nice touch. We also had some... More

Boy oh boy where do I start. I must say, I didn't look at any reviews of this place beforehand (my mistake), but I am truly surprised at all the glowing reviews here. I had a lunch that was half the total price of what I paid here, gave me more food and was much better experience overall (check out... More

We ate lunch inside. Outside tables available. As far as I could tell, we were the only patrons who were not local. The staff greeted most people by name as they came in. Service great: friendly and efficient. Fixed-price lunch menu: appetizer/soup, main, dessert, coffee. All superb. House red wine excellent. Call ahead to reserve a table by the window.

Good food. Good company and a fantastic wine. The friendly staff was very forthcoming in offering an additional glass of wine as compensation for the delay in the kitchen

On a busy Saturday night we visited without a booking. Having already been turned away by other restaurants the staff at L'Echaude were very welcoming. What a pleasure to be served by a waiter who had a passion for the food he was serving and his personal recommendation for both food and wine were spot on to our taste. The... More

To the surprise of our server and the restaurant staff, my wife and I came here after 9 pm not for food but mainly for desert and tea. Note we also asked for some of their complimentary bread (we weren't happy with our dinner). My wife and I ordered 2 deserts - a creme Brule (very good) and the restaurant's... More
