Not inexpensive but a wonderful restaurant. I had steak tartare for an appetizer. See headline. I had seafood stuffed squid over risotto. My wife had 3 appetizers. It was actually more than enough food. Desserts include sugar pie and other wonderful things. Beer and wine prices were terrific. Excellent. Then we walked around old Quebec in the snow.

Great atmosphere and excellent service. Presentation and taste are fantastic. The foie gras was cooked to perfection, the salmon tartare was fantastic in its elaborate presentation.

They do everything right! After a long walk through Old Quebec, we stopped in for dinner. Tried the soup & beef flank - both were excellent! Service was fast & friendly, but not overly familiar. Beer selection was very good with a number of local brews. Overall, a great choice in a city of great restaurants!

Ate here two days in a row. Pretty place. Very good service and the food was excellent. Wines by the glass list was short but well chosen. Soups and fish were excellent. My clear favorite of all the restaurants we visited.

A snowy night in December in Quebec City, but the welcome could not have been warmer at L'Echaude, down in the old port area, though on a pedestrian street, so quiet. Magnificent food, very good wine, very realistically priced and overall . . . well, just one word describes it. Magnificent.

Comfortable ambience and great service as well. Our meals were good and the prices were reasonable. I decided to try the Seal tataki as I had never had seal before. I can now say I've tried it and won't be ordering it again any time soon. It tasted a bit gamey but the texture was too rubbery for my liking.... More
