Fast and friendly service. Very good food: we had mussels, cold and hot soup and "cervelles" which I adore and cannot be found easily.

Most restaurants in Quebec City, especially in the most tourist visited areas offer a high price, same as always food selection. After walking around the area we spotted this lively, noisy with laughter terrace which on this hot evening was most welcomed. After beeing greeted by a most friendly waitress we waited a couple of minutes for a terrace table to be vacant.Once seated we... We had dinner at the Cafe St-Malo the first evening we arrived. It was a short walk from our 5-star hotel of which was very easy to find on our first trip to Old Quebec City. The menu is fabulous and the staff is very accommodating if you want to make any changes to your appetizer or menu to fit... More

food was average 3/5 highly overrated by Yelp and Tripadvisor but not a destination spot Lady who took our order was friendly but ignored my french and answered back in english kind of rude. Overheard next table quebec/french people taking about us and our orders which I understood and I overhead her laughing with them about us being asian and... More

It was easily the best meal of the trip, would have gone every day but multiple meals of rich french food probably isn't that good for you. A little bit away from the touristy old city but worth the extra 5 minute walk.

We had an excellent lunch at St. Malo on the comfortable outdoor terrace. The menu offered a number of healthy and intriguing selections. We began with the cold melon and avocado soup, a good choice on a hot afternoon. One of us had the Eggplant Tostada--a combination of cubed, grilled eggplant and salad greens with a luscious sauce. The other... More

Do not miss a chance to eat the best mussels and fries (moules frites) the city has to offer. Our server told us Cafe St. Malo makes the best frites in Quebec City, and we agree. But the part of the meal I daydream about the most was the giant pot of garlicky buttery (but not too garlicky or buttery)... More

I can tell you I am spoiled , but this Ossobuco I will never forget. The house wine is a perfect Mach. And for 12 cad you ad all you need to have a great dinner. We were on a short trip from Holland to visit this beautiful city, loving Inuit art.

Three people had an omelette which I tasted and it was very good. I had the Aubergene Gratine. It is like an eggplant parmesan with no pasta. It was delicious. I eat Low Carb so the "no pasta" just added to the dish.

My favorite cuisine is classic bistro. Classic as in Slow Food fare, prepared the way it was prepared one hundred years ago, before microwaves, and sous-vide machines, and refrigerators for that matter. It was affordable blue collar family fare: lesser quality cuts of meat that had to be braised all day to tenderize, offal like the liver and kidneys and... More
