I was in Quebec City with a tour group to attend Carnaval and to enjoy the Old City. 10 of us including the tour leader met for dinner here in the lower village on our second night, we 3 showing up a few minutes after the others had already arrived- seated upstairs in a cozy, but too temperature-warm room, with... Went there the first night of our stay because of its location -- and was wowed by the food and great service. The canard confit is the best duck I have ever had. We liked the place so much we went back the next night, too.

Came back to the St Malo for a second time as had great experience a few years ago. Still the same friendly service, warm and welcoming ...... And above all wholesome, home style food. A bit off the beaten track, but well worth a visit

Had a wonderful dinner at this darling establishment. The wait staff was terrific! Helpful and endearing ! Food was divine. Tried the duck and the cassoulet. Very tasty and good pairing with the house wine.5

Service was a bit slow by north American standards. But if you want to dawdle over a unique meal with properly selected wine you will not be disappointed. The intimate surroundings enhance the atmosphere that you would expect in the oldest part of one of the oldest Cities in Canada. The salmon was beautifully cooked with a very nice vegetable... More

The four of us really enjoyed the dinner. Been here before and find the owner, food and atmosphere truly Quebec at its finest. Venison ravioli was outstanding. Don't miss this place, even for soup on a cold day for lunch.

We'd been to the market and happened to wander past this place whilst looking for somewhere for lunch. Menu looked exciting! A lovely litte French themed restaruant. I had the veal's brain for my main- delicious. All the food and drinsk were delicious and this was our most favourite restaurant of our trip.

We had dinner at Cafe St Malo on New Year's Day. There is a private dining space upstairs and downstairs (street level) is small and intimate. The French cafe/restaurant is filled with trinkets and objet d'arts which seem to occupy every shelf, corner and fitting. Service was warm and welcoming, homely and relaxed. Honest staples like rich and filling lamb... More

This little two story restaurant with a cozy fireplace was a great stop. The raviolis were very tasty as was the French onion soup and rabbit.

Walking into Cafe St. Malo is just like walking into a bistro in Paris. The smells, the sounds, the atmosphere is absolutely Parisian. We have been here several times before and it is always on the list while in QC. This trip it was for lunch and the Cafe delivered. My wife had the mussels and I the steak frites... More
