we stumbled upon this restaurant while walking in the port area, I had already read about it so we said... well let's try it! we were greeted and showed to our table. the waiter came, and you could feel that he was someone who was happy to bring food to people... and since I am happy to be fed, it... After a long day with lots of walking we were pleased to find this charming restaurant in Lower Town. Menus are available in English and French, and staff are bilingual. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. We chose to sit outside and people watch while we ate. I had a delicious vegetarian sandwich, and hubby had the spaghetti. Both were... More

We ate here twice on a recent trip to Quebec City - lunch and dinner. The menu offers a broad range of food for every appetite. Everything was prepared well with attention to the details. The 12 hour maple smoked ribs are exceptional. Service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere is eclectic and comfortable. We met the chef after... More

Our tour guide recommended this restaurant for lunch and we were both very pleased with our food. My husband had Le Streak Frites with the mustard sauce - mild mustard sauce with tarragon. (I will be looking for a recipe for this lovely sauce.). I ordered the Seafood Pot Pie. Wonderful! The ribs are also a specially. Service was good.... More

Inviting... cozy... laid back. You feel relaxed the moment you cross the door. A smile welcomes you and helps you find your table. Hot cocoa for starters. Then, just go for any of the breakfast specials: can't go wrong here. World-famous canadian bacon... apple butter... eggs. You'll leave a happier person.

I really recommend the seafood potpie. This is actually the second time that i have eaten this dish. It is filled with loads of fresh seafood chunks, salmon,scallop,lobster,etc... and the sauce was just filled with flavours of the sea, and the creaminess is just right for me, the pie is really tasty. I also ate the sugar pie which i... More

After winding down the hill towards the waterfront we came across the 2-deep outdoor tables of this place. It was time for a break so we took a table and ordered late lunch. I had maple smoked salmon chunks and she had the lobster roll. The salmon chunks were nice although a Little dry. If you like smoked salmon don't... More

This place had been recommended to us. At first glance it seems like a hodgepodge of rooms with different styles without any interest. The main course was average. I must say we should not have ordered fries as a side: pity Belgian cooks do not visit Québec enough...they were below what you can expect at any place.

Got a good veggie sandwich on gluten free bread that was really good. Cute restaurant and friendly service. They even called a taxi for us when we were finished eating.

Cochon Dingue is our preferred stop in the tourist-heavy section of the lower town. The service was good and we enjoyed our selections, particularly the ribs.
