Visual presentation & taste of food were fine. At about 14 CAD (sandwich & soda) and 8CAD (opera cake & latte), this was one of the less expensive options in old town. Dining room was very big, with some long 12+ seats tables that can be shared -- this might strike-up a conversation. It was comfortable and quiet enough (fairly... More

We came to Paillard for breakfast, lunch as well as buying some bread for the road. Nice variety of breads, lunch items (sandwiches, soup, quiche), pastries; upon entering the store you are welcomed by the smell of fresh baked bread. No disappointment here, would absolutely come back when in Quebec City!

Watched one of the bakers making pastries in the front window. Wish we'd discovered this place on our first day. I got a long twisted croissant pastry, with chocolate twisted through it. It was delicious. A friend got a sandwich to tide her over on her flight home, and lovely salad. Went again the next day, same for me, bottle... More

We were in Quebec City for a week, and I walked down to Paillard's five out of the seven days we were there. The only thing I purchased were breakfast and bread items, so I can not say anything about their other food selections. The store baked fresh everyday and there was a wide selection. From croissants, muffins, pastries, to... More

We always come to this place for brekkie when we're in Québec City. The quality of the baked goods is superb and so is their coffee. We had a croissant, a brioche and a chocolate and raspberry muffin. All was very light and tasty. The muffin wasn't too sweet, and the croissant wasn't swimming in butter. The lattés were strong... Paillard offers amazing French baked goods. The croissant I had there could give most bakeries in France a lesson and other pastries, including the cheese and bacon bake, were memorable enough. We kept coming back.

We spent a charming time at the outdoor café section when the street was blocked off and one-man entertainers provided some music for people-watching. The Gelato was superb......as were some pastries!

The bacon and cheese bread was outstanding. The pastries here are a must to eat! It's in a perfect location in Old Quebec City. It was the perfect stop while walking to our hotel just outside the city walls.

Nice friendly service, great cafe au lait and croissants! Ideal to sit down and warm up when it rains!! There was also a live accordion player so made me feel right at home in France :)
