If health and safety department were going to inspect this place wouldn't pass the inspection. The guy who served out food cleaned his nose with a Kleenex, throw it away and didn't wash his hands before handling out plates and food. Dirty napkins under tables. We got the food but doesn't even look close to the pictures of what the... More

Basha offers a selection of typical Middle Eastern dishes(the restaurant is Halaal). The food was good, with the exception of the chicken, which was dry, The servers are friendly and helpful. Basha is a good place for a quick lunch

Rice was fat grained. Lot of options. Quick but there might be a huge line. Very very casual type of place.

Possibly the worst I've had. There are lots of options in the area. Keep looking you'll do yourself a favor. We asked for the Kefta (ground beef), it was way over seasoned and dry. The hummus and salad were decent, as was the water. Service is cafeteria style. And boy is it pricey! Over $30 for two dishes and two... More

We had to take takeouts for our train trip/s, we took platter with Rice and shwarma... It was awesome... it crossed all our limits.... If I did not leave Montreal on that day, I would have gone back couple of times... Well, will look forward to come back to revisit any time soon....

In a city like Montreal, with a substantial Arab community, Arabic food is plentiful. So, there is no reason why you should expect anything less than authentic and good. Unfortunately this is neither. It is neither authentic, nor good. The shawerma I had was bland, unseasoned and obviously the wrong type of meat. And the sandwich was missing a whole... More

Visiting Montreal for a conference and was grabbing a bite in the Eaton Centre food court- this was the only place that looked healthy, fresh and edible. But I was shocked- its absolutely amazing Middle Eastern food. They prepared it fresh in front of me and its all beautifully spiced with lots of gorgeous salads and vegetables. The beef is... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
