Second time we went to this restaurant and it is great. Love the big patio. My husband had the salmon tartar which was great. My mushroom ravioli was wonderful.

I dine out a lot in Montreal, but do not know the Mile End area that well as we live in the plateau. Myself and wife took a 8 mile hike yesterday from the southern part of Mont Royal through the park ending up in Outremont/Mile End. Starving an covered in sweat we stumbled into to the restaurant for some... More

Lemeac was recommended to us by a local foodie friend. What a great choice this was for us, as it gave us an insight into a more local, upmarket dining experience. The room is quite large and with typical Bistro décor. We had a good quieter table for two near the windows looking out to the street. The service was... More

We went there with a friend to celebrate. The food was tasty but next day I end up food poison. Definitely won't come back.

Restaurant Lemeac in a suburb of Montreal, Outremont. From the center of Montreal it was a 15+ taxi ride costing $15.00 Canadian dollars. The restaurant is obviously very popular with the local area, as most of the crowded restaurant seemed to know each other. Huge bar that you can have your dinner there. Very noisy and bustling. Very "Bistro" type... More

We were there for lunch and really enjoyed our meal and the ambiance. It was a bit like being in Paris.

Ate at this placed based upon the recommendation of good friends. The food was average, the service was average and both my son and I ate the lobster green salad and got sick. The lobster tasted fresh and so did the greens, I can't imagine what made us ill from this meal, but we were very ill for several days.... More

Lemeac is one of my favourite restaurants for a variety of reasons. My last visit was as exceptional as the many times I have frequented this establishment. Firstly, the food is always freshly prepared and all ingredients are fresh - some are from local farms. They have an excellent wine list and my favourite drink, a Cosmo, is always perfectly... More

French classics in a convivial atmosphere. Upscale brasserie atmosphere, clearly a local hangout frequented by the movers and shakers of Montreal. Friendly but casual service, a place I would go to a couple of times a week if I lived in Montreal. They treat regulars right.

Thank Bill S

Staying in Outremont

Neighborhood Profile
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theater productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighborhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
