The poutine here is top-notch with warm gravy, extra fried fries to ensure they don't get too soggy, and a beautifully textured cheese curd. It's comforting and warm on a cold night walking through the streets of Montreal. The venue itself on the outside is a beautiful array of colors to capture your attention. And on the inside: very few seats if you're looking to indoor dine, however I haven't done so since pre-pandemic. They do delivery, in which I recommend making sure and asking they separate the gravy from the fries as not to get them too soggy on the trip to your place.

Definitely one of the best poutine in town. Crispy fries, squeaky cheese that squeaks, the right amount of appetizing gravy. We visited on a beautiful autumn day at the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic. The guys were allowing customers one by one inside and handing out orders through the side window. The park across the street served us as a perfect dining room. Beside delicious poutine the selection of solid local beers was wonderful. Awesome place to experience this loved traditional Quebec dish!

Wonderful Frites and Poutine

Patati Patata is a tiny corner restaurant with great food. When we approached, there was a pretty long line, but it moved fast. We decided to get take out and eat in the park across the street, since there were benches to sit on and we wouldn't be crowded with other people. My niece tried the classic poutine and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. She thoroughly enjoyed both. I had the salad and fries. They were the best fries I've ever had. This is not a gourmet dining experience, but excellent food. The guys working at the restaurant were going non stop to feed and serve the customers. Prices were reasonable.

It's hard to find many faults with this restaurant because there's so much to love about it. After waiting about 30 minutes in line, Patati Patata did not disappoint. My 2 friends and I got seats at the counter of this compact homey diner. The staff soon took our orders with a smile. There was a variety of genres of international lively music pumping out of the speakers. Then, the food arrived, burgers, fries and poutine. All tasted very good, but as with most fine things, the portions were on the small side. If you're a big eater like myself, you might take the risk or ordering an extra burger. Or you could fill yourself up at another restaurant after this one. Anyway, in my opinion, Patati Patata is definitely worth a try if you haven't been there. It's a good experience. However, as there are plenty of other good restaurants in Montreal, I am not sure I'd wait outside of Patati Patata again.

Amazing poutine from a very casual place

Though it looks a bit dingy, it has quite a delicious poutine. They offer both standard, tofu-based, and even breakfast poutines (with eggs and/or bacon). They also offer burgers, and sweet things, but I stuck with the classic poutine. It's casual, so you order, pay, and they bring it to the limited tables they have or eat at the counter. The poutine was really good, particularly the cheese curds. They were slightly rubbery, which is a good sign. Great portion size for the price. Servers and cooks were all good. If you're in the Saint-Laurent area or coming down from Parc Mont-Royal, or checking out the Tam tams, try the resto nearby, they open until 2 am.

We waited for 35 min for 6 Churros. They forgot the sugar on them, our Coffees were cold by the time we got them. If waiting for food is what you are on vacation for, go for it. No one‘s wearing masks or following any kind of hygiene protocol.

Don't believe the poutine hype!

I really don't see why people say this is the best poutine in Montreal... I had a better one at McDonalds! Seriously... a handful of almost burned chips (probably the frozen type), with gravy and some (still cold) cheese curds is always "tasty" but that doesn't mean anything. I went a long way outside the centre trying to find this little shop and was def. disappointed... Btw the staff is very helpful, polite and fast - the small fast food place is way too small and hot in the summer to eat in but there is a very nice park just across the street.

Great place in Montreal for eating poutine!

This place is an absolute favorite in Montreal for eating poutine! It's definitively worth going. Every time I've come here service is nice and fast. I recommend ordering some homemade iced tea with what you order. The burgers are also great and particularly cheap. However, it's important to note that it's worth going outside lunch/diner hours as there is usually a waiting line during these times of the day (the restaurant is very small).

These folks go thin fries but perfectly crispy. Great sauce. Unreal amount of squeaky cheese curds. Excellent service. And a total endearing dicey vibe. Maybe the best poutine ever w a great beer. I’ll be back.

Small and busy, watching the three cooks dance around each other with solid blues playing over a quality speaker made me feel like I had live entertainment. I had the fish burger which was more than fine but I hunch some other dishes might have been better. Breakfast menu looks great. They had a nice selection of beers on tap, especially for a place that seats about 15. Loved being there and there was a non stop line of people for take out so if this place was ever a "hidden gem" it is starting not to be.

We were on St Laurent pretty late one night and I had a friend recommend this place to me. We weren't super hungry but we did get an order of fries and they were perfect. It's also the perfect portion amount for 2 people to share.

When in Rome, you must eat Poutine. Not just any Poutine, but Frites du Luxe. Came here on a recommendation from a tour as well as some hipsters. Looks like a hole in the wall and maybe it is, but I loved the vibe. My just recommended the poutine and the burger….fully dressed. Thoroughly enjoyed the fries covered in curds drenched in gravy. Burger and a beer hit the spot on a Sunday at 2pm. Not a lot of seating, so be patient. I’m glad I came, saw and conquered.

I went here on the recommendation of a local friend. They are open late which was good for me, who didn't get around to dinner until quite late. I just had the poutine which was quite good! I meant to go back but didn't have the time.
