My daughter and I loved this place. This was my best breakfast ever! Food was so delicious and the serving size was great! Service was very good. Ambiance was very comfortable - not scenic - but it was just right. Bravo to this place!

Small diner-like place, open late and open early. Really good food, which is extremely reasonable. The staff was very nice as well.

This little 10-seat (or so) place was recommended to us by several locals as being the #1 real-deal poutine that we were seeking. True! It's a friendly hole-in-the-wall kind of place where you can sit at the bar and watch them cook/prepare your food in minutes. The salad was surprisingly delicious (who knew?), the burgers were good, the place was... More

You get nice local food made in front of you at a nice price. I tried my first poutine here and it was very good. A lot of people come and go and it's a small, few-sittings kind of place but the staff is very nice and you get a quick service. It's a favorite.

The cabbie recommended this place for poutine. It was good and a unique place. It was good but not the best I have had..it did the trick for what we were looking for.

Popped in for a couple of quick poutines. This is a small place with a few seats but service moves quickly so the wait wasn't long. Poutines were made while we watched. Service was excellent - friendly and laid back- and food was solid. Judging by the pretty much non-stop crowd, it looks like a neighborhood favourite.

A great place to get a delicious meal cooked to order without spending very much. Burgers, fish, and vegetarian options with expert fries and poutine accompanied by a gorgeous salad. Fresh squeezed juice too. If I lived in Montreal, I'd eat here all the time. Friendly service too. Best for one or two or takeout since there's so little seating.

I have eaten here numerous times and the burgers and fries are amazing. They are made in the restaurant with their home made dressings and excellent crisp thin fries. The restaurant is tiny (hence "the hole in the wall" name) and often full but you can easily take away. The prices are also really good.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
