Fresh from the oven Bagels. You have to try it and you will not regret it. Affordable and tasteful. Its just next to Kem Coba Ice-cream.

My wife and I rented Biki's to get the Fairmount Bagels. We got 2 dozen, stopped at the grocery store for some cream cheese and jam. Get the Bixi's back in the rental unit and arrived with the best fresh bagels for our teenage boys! We even had a dozen left to bring back to Toronto. These are the best... More

Cash only but great bagels. They are open 24 hours a day but most mornings there is a line out the door. Don't be intimidated though because the place is small and the line moves fast. Make sure you know your order when you get to the counter though.

A local took me here, saying they were the best bagels in the city. And they were amazing. We had to queue in a tiny shop - a good sign. I loved seeing getting to see the baking process while we waited. Great area to explore in the city aswell.

Came here on a Monday afternoon, with a line out the door. Ordered one bagel and one pretzel. They were both ok. We took two bites of each, then tossed them. Not worth a special trip.

These are the best bagels in town hands down. Tourists go to st viator they have been too commercial (like the main is the best smoke meat in Montreal) . This is a local spot. The recipe is true to the original one!!

Heard so much about this landmark, Montreal institution so I figured I'd grab a few bagels for the train ride back to T.O. Meh. I was there just after 7am so you'd think they'd be fully stocked and fresh out of the oven, not so. Won't return.

Well recommend so we attended and enjoyed it after a night of entertainment. The locals and tourists all frequent this place, open 24 hours a day.

Isadore Shlafman started a bagel shop in Montreal when he arrived in 1919. In 1949 he bought a shop on Fairmont Street and lived above the bakery. Fairmont Bagels, now run by the grandchildren, is still located in the same shop on Fairmont Street so don't expect a quaint sitdown-this is a bakery with some serious work going on. The... More

Always piping hot and fresh! Can't beat them! Buy them by the half dozen and eat a couple straight out of the bag. Be even more decadent and pick up some cream cheese and lox to go on top. An essential part of the Montreal lifestyle.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
