Best bagel I’ve ever had. Great coverage of seeds on each side. Right out of the wood fired oven. Outstanding.

I’m a tourist from New England in the US and researched this is the place to go for bagels in Montreal. Me and my mom got a sesame, blueberry and bozo. They were all good, fresher and lighter than the US bagels. They could use...some salt though. My favorite was the blueberry and we both liked the bozo. I wish they let you heat them up, would be better.More
The best bagels I’ve ever had! Soft on the inside, crispy on the outside and covered in toppings all around. I bought a dozen to bring home to Ontario because there is nothing like it around here.
We didn't realize that the location we went to (unsure about other locations) was a grab and go concept - no toasting, cutting, spreads, no sitting, etc. It was also cash only. Since we're visiting, we grabbed some bagels to go and bring home, which...were hard by the next day even after we put them in a ziploc. We didn't get to experience them fresh or day of so we cannot speak to that, but they were fine enough. Nothing different than any other bagel from the store. Worth a visit to see if you enjoy. :)More
I bought 3 bagels. When I tried to eat one, it tasted like plaster or cement. The way the young man behaved, I believe that he knew it.
I’m absolutely team Fairmount when it comes to the Montreal bagel wars. The sesame seed is my go to since you’re almost always going to get a hot one fresh out of the wood fired oven, as this is the type they make the most...frequently. The cranberry bagel was great too. The inside of the store is small, and there’s a line up sometimes as quite popular, definitely worth the wait though. Bagels themselves are the perfect amount of chewy and sweet. I don’t live in Montreal but I’ve visited three times now and I’m already looking forward to the next visit!More
Went to Fairmount Bagel during a self guided food crawl in the mile end area of Montreal. Went during the week early afternoon so no line up. It was cool to see them making the bagels right in front of me. Went with a sesame...bagel. It was fresh, perfect density and amount of sesame seeds. Had a bagel from St Viateur too, its a tight race between who makes the better bagel. I recommend trying both and judging for yourself.More
Smaller and sweeter than New York bagels, but still pretty good. They give you a small cream cheese as well. Tried the sesame seed bagel.
One of the most popular and famous bagel stores in Montreal. They serve us quite a few flavors of the classic Montreal bagel, and I think you have to try them and compare to those you like from home. What do you think?
Got an onion bagel. Very flavorful with medium level of doughiness and a touch of salt. Not too fluffy and not too rubbery - just the right texture and good flavor. I would rate this a tad better than St. Viateur for flavor.
Wanted to try Montreal bagels and this place came recommended. The line was fast moving and not long around 10am on a weekday. I wish I had looked up the place ahead of time to know that this place is *just* bagels. As far as...I could tell there was no option to get a bagel with cream cheese or lox etc on it, just a bag of bagels and then containers of spreads. This was fine, I just wasn’t prepared for it. I’m from New York and this was definitely a different kind of bagel - sweeter, less fluffy, almost like a baked pretzel consistency. Tasty, but next time I’ll plan ahead!More
Was really excited to eat a bagel from here but they didn’t live up to expectation. Yes it was a good bagel, but it wasn’t the best I’ve ever eaten, average at best sadly.
This place was highly recommended. We got there around 10 on a Sat morning and there was no line. However in just the short time while we were ordering, the line was out the door. You walk up to the small counter and place your...order which they bag for you and you pay and leave. There is no seating. The person who took our order was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we found the bagels to be so-so. It seemed they were missing salt and so were a a bit blah. I don’t know if this is normal or just a miss on that day.More
There are two Montreal institutions for getting bagels – Fairmount and Saint Viateur. Since we had already visited Saint Viateur earlier, our host took us to Fairmount in Miles End. The bagels just came out of the oven so they were fresh and hot. Tasted so...yummy: chewy and slightly sweet. The sesame gave it a nice mouth feel. It’d not fair to compare them to Saint Viateur for we bought these fresher. We can, however, proudly boast that we have tried both of Montreal’s finest.More
Everyone said to try it...we did but be aware, only bagels, no coffee/juice. The Bozo is sesame seed on one side and poppy on the other. Definitely tastes different than a NY bagel, it's sweeter. You can get little individual cream cheeses or they have...a cooler of salmon and other kinds of cream cheese.More
