Very good sushi but a bit on the expensive side. Do expect a bill around 250$ for 2 (taxes and tip included).

On a street going through a bit of a revival close to but not in downtown Montreal. The only reason I found this place is through a local who grew up in the neighborhood. The outside doesn't particularly catch your attention. You need to know the exact address otherwise you'll likely miss it. The interior decor is very modern, sort... More

I have been to Jun I many time and always been amazed. The quality and freshness of the food is just not comparable to any other sushi place in Montreal. The chef Jun is a real Master of his art. The staff known the menu and are very nice. Last time I was there I sat at the bar with... More

Look no further, Juni is the best sushi restaurant in Montreal! We were told and now we’ve experienced and it did not disappoint! As we started the evening early, we had a sparkling wine aperitif and a Kyoto old fashioned. The old fashioned was nice, but sparkling and without many “Kyoto features”. The menu was nice, sushi centric and not... More

When our 20 years anniversary came up, we wanted a special restaurant that would not disappoint us, food wise or service wise. Jun I delivered beyond our expectations. Not only was the staff very service minded even though we came very late and were the last customers of this Tuesday night. They also made us feel welcome and for dessert,... More

Ok first I have to say that the food was not to criticize, it was great. What I have to complain about is the service. (And I usually I'm not one to complain). Having worked in a restaurant and customer service for many years, I can tell when service is bad. So when you go to Juni, you except an... More

Came for dinner after a long day of business meetings. Nice atmosphere but......after having lived in Japan-this is not real sushi! Ordered sashimi appetizer which came with a whole whack of "sauces" to go with what was very fresh fish. Maple syrup sauce....Pernod sauce....caramel sauce-STOP! Celebrate the fish and don't kill it with sauces 101. The maki rolls were not... More

Some of the highest quality sushi I've had in Montreal. Just go for the maki and you won't regret it. I would avoid the appetizers and just spend it on more sushi, the appetizers are definitely overpriced for what you get.

Starting from the beginning - we made a reservation online and when we arrived our table was immediately available even though the restaurant was packed. Nice start. Service attention was immediate and shared among three waiters with one taking the lead for eplaining the menu and wines. The three waiters made sure we didn't want for anything during the meal.... Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
