This is a small contemporary restaurant. Each plate is a piece of art that will steal your heart. They use a lot of fresh fruits and flowers and just too pretty to consume. This is one of those places that will give you a very nice dining experiences. Not only your palate is filled nice suprises, you eyes will satisfy... More

Loved this restaurant. We booked a reservation well in advance, and it was a packed room. I called ahead, worried because our family has food allergies and there were only 2 choices of menu. No worries, talked to the staff and they reassured me that we would be safe. We were seated immediately, drinks followed---well made, and our adventure began.... More

Very well thought dishes. The mixes are amazing and daring. Perfect friendly and casual service. Consider booking several weeks in advance.

Same location, same staff, same lovely food. BUT, no choices on the menu anymore. There are two fixed menus - regular and vegetarian. Have strong food preferences? Then, this is no longer the best place for you. The music in the restaurant seems much louder. In the mix now are a number of rap pieces - loud, mildly obscene in... More

Les Deux Singes only offers tasting menus (one of which is vegetarian). So, the choices are limited. But, we found that the chef was very willing to accommodate some specific requests that we had. Other than that, I recommend that you trust the chef's vision and you will be rewarded with an outstanding dinner. Each of the courses was beautifully... More

What an amazing place this is - one of the top few meals we have ever had and we eat out at a lot of lovely restaurants. Extremely casual ambience, but don't be fooled the food really is exceptional - exquisite and unexpected flavours. Our best meal on our holiday in Canada by a long way.

A tremendous place. My wife and I went to Les Deux Singes de Montarvie last Saturday for dinner. We were not disappointed. When we arrived, we found our name on a small chalkboard sitting on what was our table. The decor is eclectic--very, very eclectic--but somehow works well. The restaurant has the feel of a small, quirky neighborhood restaurant, even... More

If you feel like getting of the downtownarea, the Mile end area is a great spot forma nice walk etc... Les singes de montarvie is a great table. You will not be impressed by the appearance of the restaurant outside but do walk in as " les apparences sont tromoeuses" This is a great spot for a romantic evening.

We had dinner here this evening and the food was beyond wonderful. The flavors were perfectly balanced and delicious. The presentation was true art on a plate. Highly recommend to anyone in Montreal. Plan ahead it is a small restaurant that you do not want to miss.

The place looks a little shabby but don't be fooled. The menu is fixed, tasting menu, so your choice is either vegetarian or not. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent as they have only a dozen tables. The ambiance is a little stale but if you're a foodie it's definitely for you.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
