This place was fantastic and one of the best meals i've ever had. Food: the set menu was fantastic and such a perfect combination of foods & flavours. I can't stop thinking about it it was so good! The staff were so accommodating as I have allergy to one food in the starter so they made it without and were... More

Les deux singes de Montarvie is that restaurant which if you walk past it, you would not think they have one of the highest quality for food in the neighborhood/city as it looks like the typical bar/restaurant atmosphere of the Mile-end neighborhood with this young and trendy vibe. But this is exactly that: a trendy restaurant with a cool atmosphere,... More

I've visited this place three times over the last two years. I've never found the space itself appealing to spend an evening but the food and cocktails have always been fantastic and innovative. The service is also great, almost family style. The wine list needs work. However, on my last visit I was shocked to find out that they only... More

I had been wanting to try this French Restaurant for a while. It was until recently # 1 on yours truly (Trip Advisor). The menu is simple. 2 choices, a 4 course tasting menu with beef or duck or a 4 course vegetarian menu. If you’re a person who is picky, than you don't have much to work with here.... More

This is a tiny little restaurant in the Mile End neighborhood. They serve only prix fixe. The food was unbelievably good, the ingredients fresh (they have their own herb garden inside the restaurant) and the service excellent and low key. We were so happy we found it.

This is a very understated restaurant - nothing fancy that suggests culinary excellence but that is what they deliver. The food is world class. Helped by a menu that offers just 2 tasting menus (and even then several courses overlap) they use this familiarly to ensure perfect quality and presentation. The flavors are wonderful, each dish visually a treat. They... More

The place itself is small, perhaps around a 30 seater (including some seats at the bar which overlooks the kitchen). Funky modern art hangs on the wall with some older lighting antique fixtures. The first name of the party that made the reservation is chalked into the signage rez label. The waiter and the owner's wife waits on the tables... More

Les Deux Singes de Montarvie exceeded all expectations set by Trip Advisor's #1 Restaurant in Montreal rating. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant - an unassuming storefront - we felt a sense of warmth and welcome. This persisted throughout the meal, a delightful and satisfying tasting menu dining experience. The amuse-bouche was wonderful, the salad full of wonderful... More

Hmmm this one was a tough one for me. On one hand was it amazing and delicious…yes. But on the other does it really belong as the top spot in Montreal when there are so many good restaurants in this city… I don’t know that’s where the confusion lies. Let me start off by first saying that this place is... More

This is a small contemporary restaurant. Each plate is a piece of art that will steal your heart. They use a lot of fresh fruits and flowers and just too pretty to consume. This is one of those places that will give you a very nice dining experiences. Not only your palate is filled nice suprises, you eyes will satisfy... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
