As most everyone says, the chicken was great. So were the "french" fries. Yes the line was long but they move everything along. The menu was confusing to us especially the size to order and we did not know we had a choice of sauce until we were at the counter placing our order. But the wait was well worth... More

We came here for the famed charcoal grilled chicken. We were not disappointed beyond the long 20 min line up to order on a Saturday evening at 730pm. The chicken was moist and season through with flavour. It may taste over salted at times and we can only guess the meat was brined. The chicken sauce is tasty, with a... More

Had the chicken and it was very tasty. Ordering it was complicated because the man taking the order and putting it in the containers was not very clear. My friend who is a French speaker from Montreal had trouble understanding what was going on even though our order was simply off the menu. We had to bring the fries back... More

In my opinion best Portuguese pick up and go place. I really suggest you call first and place your order. Great staff, very friendly, food is always hot and tasty. The hot sauce could be hotter or they should have levels, Piri piri sauce, I was not impressed.

Good, solid Portuguese chicken. A little expensive for what you get. The fries were outstanding. Piri piri sauce was a bit weak. lacking any heat. Salad was an after thought. Wouldn't return.

What makes this place special in my opinion, in addition to the chicken, is their French fries and poutine selection. Wow. Very good indeed. The only issue I had, is ordering and eating there. Lining up to order took over 30 minutes. And then waiting to pay took another 15 minutes. Then finding a little table, very difficult. But the... More

I've been looking forward in coming here since I decided to come to Montreal. I arrived Friday afternoon and once I dropped my bags off we hailed a Uber ride and made our way to Romados for BBQ chicken! Once we arrived you can instantly smell the smoke in the air inside was lengthy line up. I ordered the half... More

We found out about this local eatery while at the YUL EAT festival. 3 locals told us about it and said we should not miss it! We went there, had 1/2 chicken combo and the pork sandwich. The food was fantastic and very inexpensive for the amount of good you got! Highly recommend a visit!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
