About
Duc de Lorraine, open since 1952, is Montreal's oldest French pastry shop. From our critically acclaimed buttery croissants, to our traditional fine pastries, we have maintained our original recipes from our great chefs over the years. In addition to our fine pastries, we are well known for our brunch, and traditional French bistro specialities. From our restaurant windows, and in warmer months our patios the view is beautiful of St Joseph Oratory. We are open every day of the year from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM

Thank you Greg for your wonderful review! In warmer months the small street infront of the store closes to traffic, and we have two patios. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

This little cafe was teeming with customers, waiters with platters of incredible little pastries and coffees, or hot chocolates. Such a wonderful "French" ambiance. While we were waiting I looked at all the items for sale - incredible! Each and every one looked more delicious...More

The dessert selection is impressive and they nail the French classics. Try the mille feuille. Plus : good service and a dog friendly terasse.

Since it was a nice day and the Duc was crowded, we picked up some cookies and exquisite pastries and sat in the sun across the street. There are benches and tables available at no charge. Many of the servers speak only French. but make...More

I can't say anything about dining here, as we only bought patisseries to eat at the pocket park across from the restaurant (Adirondack chairs provided). The patisseries were absolutely superb, excellent value and would hold their own against any in France. There is limited seating...More

This landmark pastry shop is hopping! For so many reasons. This stalwart old standby is now hip and happening. Check out the beautiful, little corner terrace across from a tiny shaded park with relaxed seating areas. The serving staff are actually welcoming and helpful. The...More

Delicious lunch, fabulous cocktails, and a bakery that all would envy! No better Poutine! (Our culinary palettes believe perhaps a bit of sherry cooked into the mushroom gravy was what added an extra layer of flavor to this dish). Their Onion Soup was a hearty...More

A really nice Sunday and the terrace is full. It’s a no wonder . The Atlantic sandwich (smoked salmon, cucumber, lettuce and capers on a baguette) was superb. This French bistro deserves to be patronized as it doesn’t fail to satisfy!
