We almost took a pass on Le Club Chasse Et Peche. We had heard that it was kind of touristy. It turned out to be, overall, our favorite meal of the trip. Everything, from soup to nuts, was flawless. Service was excellent, ambience was awesome and the food fabulous. Agree that it was expensive, but not really any more than... More

Everything across the board was outstanding! Ambiance, service, and of course, the food. The Risotto was AMAZING and the duck was superb. If you're in town as a couple and not on a budget, treat yourself! One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. 10 stars!

An enjoyable dining experience. Great selections from fish to fowl. Creatively prepared and presented. Our server knowledgeable and helpful. Desert course knocked me over. Had a pleasant but pricey right bank Bordeaux. Had a great evening but dread the arrival of my Visa bill.

The menu, the atmoshphere, the service are always great. I really like the duck and the venison two ways. Meat was very tasty and tender! Keep it up!

The cosy ambiance of Chasse et Pêche is great, especially during winter. Maybe a bit expensive but the meals are excellent. It is one of my favorite places in Montreal. I generally go there for business dinners with visitors from other countries, so I would recommend it to travelors. Bon appétit.

We made reservations for this restaurant on our honeymoon in Montreal. We frequent Montreal as we live just south of the border in Burlington and have always wanted to try it. This restaurant was absolutely incredible, from the service to the food everything was impeccable. Our waiter spoke both English and French and was knowledgeable and helpful with the menu.... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
