There is a great debate in Montreal as to whether St-Viateur or Fairmont makes the best bagels, and then whether those bagels are better than the ones found in New York City. St-Viateur makes very good bagels and offers them in a no-frills, hurry up...More

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, bagels. And delicious bagels at that. They were fresh from the oven, crunchy on the outside, soft & warm on the inside. Buy your bagels & whatever spread you want (we bought hummus & smoked salmon spreads)...More

When we went at around 10:30 AM on a Monday, they were already sold out of the everything bagels (luckily they have another shop a few blocks down that did have it). We went with the half dozen rosemary bagels and they tasted like they...More

Fantastic bagels. Unique and very different than NY bagels. Fresh out of the oven carries a caramel smokey sweetness with a dense chewiness that rocks. Always open and always busy. Recommended.

Super bagels, very fresh, lots of different flavours to choose from. You can also buy fillings. But you can't sit down and eat. You need to go to the other St-Viateur to sit down and eat.....it's a long walk or shorter bus ride from this...More

No bagel sandwiches here, just bagels. You cannot even get cream cheese except in those tiny Philadelphia Cream Cheese single-service packages (75 cents each). So odd, but they still bring in the crowd due to the great quality of the bagels themselves. These are basic...More

Excellent bagels—light and delicious unlike some of the bready varieties you find in the US. Definitely worth a visit. Go early. Always a long line.

Absolutely amazing bagels, and we are from NYC! Very different, distinct, slightly sweet, good even on their own, but surely with cream cheese or lox or anything else! Super busy store, lots of groups and tourists, cash only. Loved it, took a few home. Don’t...More

Went searching for Montreal bagels and these did not disappoint. We were able to watch as the bagels were being made and left with half a dozen for ourselves.

Great place to visit if you live locally but the lack of seating even outside makes it tough to make this a breakfast destination. Long lines are typical but they move fast. You buy lox, cream cheese, other spreads and cold drinks in the cooler...More

Hi - There is awesome dim-sum near the convention center - which is right next to China Town. Just exit the center heading towards downtown (away from Old Montreal) and turn right. You'll be in China Town. For a more North... More
