I met a Vegan friend for lunch and really enjoyed my meal. The food was fresh and flavorful. The service was great and I definitely recommend it, even for the non-vegans.

Interesting concept but there was a definite absence of taste in the dish we ordered. Indeed we chose the Thai bowl which comprised of rice at the bottom and mainly carrots in top. There was grated carrots, pickled carrots, 2 slices of pickled radish, 2 stems of blanched bok choy all these being cold. The only source of flavor was... More

As English people in Montreal with fairly patchy French between us, we were delighted to receive the warmest of welcomes from our waitress when we arrived for Saturday brunch at Aux Vivres. Then, to top it all off, the food was truly delicious. The blueberry pancakes taste better than most full-dairy American-style pancakes I've eaten and I have no idea... More

The reviews of this place was stellar, so it was first on my dining list and it did not disappoint. The food was wonderful. The wait staff was efficient and the music provided a nice vibe. I had a chana roti.

Many good choices, I had a tough time deciding. I ended up getting an Indian chick pea appetizer followed by a vegan burger with potato wedges. The wedges are served with chipolte ketchup was delicious. I also tried their vinaigrette called Dragon Sauce and it is absolutely delicious. They do sell some products in the grocery store and I promptly... More

The food at Aux Vivres is excellent- it is hard to imagine that it is vegan. The only reason I did not give them a five star is that they revoked the safety of their gluten free food.

Visited Aux Vivres for dinner based on my wife's rave review from a prior visit. We started with Malai Kofta Balls, which are spiced chickpea balls in coconut curry sauce. They were good, but not exceptional. For our main, we shared an excellent "Sirocco" wrap which comes with grilled eggplant, hummus, roasted red peppers, lettuce & olive tapenade. The wrap... More

What a gem in Montreal - really amazing vegan food. I was impressed with the depth of the menu. It was a full menu complete with starters, entrees and dessert. They say the most popular dish is the dragon bowl - I had the sandwich version and it was amazing. I also had the chickpea balls as an appetizer and... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
