Never fails to impress how flavourful and tender the meats are at this place. Always seasoned and cooked perfectly. Chicken and ribs are the stars but literally everything is good and the Potato chips are killer! Ask for wine by the glass as they have a great private import selection. Service is extraordinary - friendly, fast and fun.

Robust and solid flavours of charcoal and spices. Perfectly cooked ribs and a large !! breast of chicken tender and well seasoned. Nice salad to start. Added a pitcher of red sangria. Excellent price-value. Life is good and we will be back soon.

We always order the bbq chicken family meal. The chicken is to die for, the fries are to die for, the salad is always crisp and fresh, the dressing matches perfectly. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Barroso-- (the Rue Ontario location!)

Both of us ordered the Table de Hôte - Assiette mixte ( Mixed Grill Special). The plate had beef, pork, pheasant (?) and home made chips. The marinade made the meat very tasty. The pheasant was perfect! Very delicious. I was a bit leery of the homemade chips but they weren't too greasy. And it certainly looked great as part... More

Often go for lunch. Always take the same plate : grilled calamari. They are out of this world... with the tasty salad, scrumptious rice and wow homemade French fries... wow.

I did so much research of reasonable-priced Portuguese restaurants in Montreal for this past Valentine's Day. After our dining at Grill Barroso, I can say that my research and choice are very worth it. I don't believe that they serve authentic Portuguese food. I've been to Portugal and can't find some of the characteristic dishes here. However, as their name... More

Fantastic place for grilled meats and fish. We had grilled sardines and a mixed grill of beef, pork, lamb, chicken, quail and sausage. The portions are huge and one entree easily fed two men (and we took some home, to boot!).

One time visit, food is ok nothing great. Forget about returning a plate not to your liking. They actually counted which pieces were cooked ok and which ones were not...AND they want to prove a point doing so.

One of the worst places I've eaten so called "Portuguese" food! I'm Portuguese and let me tell you, this isn't it! To have an authentic Portuguese, have the decency to have a "Portuguese" cook who knows about "Grillades"! The meat overcooked, dry...tasteless! Music...too loud (overwhelming) at least play music from the country you are trying to sell! I asked the... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
