This downtown restaurant has transparent plexiglas and seems to be very alert to all things Covid which is reassuring. The service was impeccably timed and the Wednesday tasting menu was tasty and satisfying. No wonder we like this place so much. Street parking is fairly...easy in the evenings. No issue for mobility challenged persons. Not really a place for kids although I am sure they can handle them.More

Was amazing temperature sushi I I had all year. Explosion was amazing and all the tuna was very good. Was busy so the service was a bit slow. Music was amazing. Very very good sushi.

My husband and I just came back from an outstanding dinner at Sho-Dan. There are very few restaurants that we are visiting during this pandemic but we were so impressed with the precautions taken at this restaurant. Every table is surrounded by glass partitions so...you are essentially dining in your own “bubble”. As always, the service and the meal were exceptional and we look forward to returning soon and will be adding Sho-Dan to our very short list of restaurants that we feel comfortable visiting during these unprecedented times. Thank you Sho-Dan!More

Great place to taste « out of the ordinary » sushi. I went back after the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted and was pleasantly surprised and reassured that the owner had done all that was necessary for the clients to have a safe and enjoyable meal. The wait...was a little longer than usual but understandable in the context. The restaurant was able to maintain their standard for quality and service. Overall, the experience was great, the Staff was pleasant, in a good mood and focusing on our well being and comfort . The food was exquisite. All was done with elegance and style! Well done Shô Dan ! Worth every dollar! Don’t forget to bring your mask and smile!More

Visited SHO-Dan for lunch in March 2020. This appears to be a favorite business lunch spot for local sushi lovers. Ordered beginner sushi lunch, that came with three different rolls, and a few pieces of sushi. It came with miso soup and salad, and nicely...presented. A good place in downtown for sushi.More

This used to be a great place...used....the restaurant itself needs new funiture, new decor, and a new vibe. Its just getting old and dusty. The manager was yaning the whole night, looked hung over, the staff, well...just ok. The food was just boring...tasteless. The music...was a wanne be beat over and over and over...jazz would be nice. Nothing special about that place anymore....better choices now in montreal.More

The quality of this restaurant has really suffered in past years. Service today was very slow throughout lunch and, other than the specialty items, the rest of the sushi was quite ordinary. I've been disappointed one too many times, and will be going elsewhere downtown...for Asian cuisineMore

Been coming here since it opened. Longtime staff greet regulars as friends, making you feel at home. Chefs were originally from Mikado restaurant on St-Denis, Japanese-trained. They serve all the usual staples but you're here for the specials! There is a page in the menu...with the house specials that include a few selections that would likely give a sushi purist in conniptions but who cares? It's all delicious and even though prices have increased over the years (especially for the specials), still worth treating yourself. Hang out at the sushi bar, make friends with the chefs, and who knows - you may get to taste something new and special. And yes, they do takeout - just order ahead.More

The reviews inspired me, but it was a disappointing take out experience. The dumplings were very good; the tofu was bizarre with no flavor and so much Bonita flakes on top that it looked like the Bonita was alive; the salad was ok; and the...Lawyer was an interesting presentation and actually quite tasty-served as a split avocado with spicy tuna and tabiko on top. I had anticipated a roll. Oh, and they forgot the extra rice.More
