Staff were wonderful and the Lamb pasta dish was delicious. When I ordered I was told 'oh the famous Lamb pasta well chosen' and I can see why. My mum had the Veal Saltimboca and was probably the best she has had.

My wife were running late for dinner and We stopped in due to the restaurant being across the street from our hotel. Luckily for us it was a great find. I had the pasta ragu and she had the gnocchi with lobster. We live in Boston's little Italy so when it comes to Italian food we are not novices, this... More

I tried goat cheese because it was previously lauded by a couple of reviewers on TripAdvisor. I didn't like it at all, I thought it was too strong. I also purchased the salmon with spaghetti and it came overcooked. Chardonnay tasted really flat. Finally I ordered profiterole and coffee for dessert and it was really good. All in all, I... More

We found Bis recommended on TripAdvisor and it did not disappoint. We had one delicious course after another. We started with an appetizer plate and their Italian sushi. I had the Carbonara and my husband had the special which was a pasta with sauce and diced up filet. Everything was fantastic and we felt well taken care of - everyone... More

Was in Montreal for one night, and staying on Rue de la Montagne. Looking at Yelp & Trip Advisor reviews for the area, I saw that Bis was highly recommended, and thought I would see if we could get in for dinner. It was a Saturday night, and we didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get to... More

Any time we walk into this special restaurant, we are treated like VIP's by Paolo and all the staff. The service is beyond excellent and the food is mouth-watering. The cosmo's are equally out of this world. ;) An absolute must! Thanks so much Bis!

We had a delicious Italian meal here in a lovely and relaxing room on Rue Montagne. We ordered the house antipasto plate served a table, which had lightly fried calamari, date stuffed prosciutto, stuffed mushrooms and slivers of parmigiana reggiano. Cocktails were unique, a diabilitano (sp) with tequila and pepper extract e.g. Mains were cajun Mahi Mahi, grilled striped bass,... More

The service is excellent but the food is not exceptional. We were disappointed because the reviews were not accurate. Although the veal and the tuna were of good quality , the cuisine was nor innovative and was rather bland.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
