location was amazing. Food was amazing. Service was ummmmm good haha but it was amusing. When we couldn't decide on a wine the waiter was a bit pissed about it. However this is Montreal and most higher end places have staff that have chips on their shoulders. We liked his attitude which made it fun! It was also during the... More

We decided to eat here after walking through the area and stumbling across the restaurant by chance. Very nice cocktails and a wine list with many choices, a lot of which I had not heard of before. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious as was the lamb pasta dish. Service was excellent. Overall we very much enjoyed our meal, however felt... More

My wife and I stopped by on a Monday evening for a light meal. We enjoyed an excellent and memorable experience at Bis. We had some Portobello ripieni, which was to die for, alongside spaghetti bolognese with a veal meat sauce. Very satisfying evening with great food and company. This restaurant was a beautiful and impressive place, along with staff... More

This dining experience continues to be great. The staff are so pleasant and helpful in making your experience very memorable. The food was top notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic dinner. However, business people can sure impress clients if they chose this as a dining destination.

The service, food, ambiance & even the other guests were great. Meals were flavored just right & the right amount. Try the cocktails. They are fun.

Bet busy even on a Wednesday night at 6. I had the pasta special which was made with a nice light sauce and chunks of filet. Utterly amazing. My wife and her cousin had the lemon Orzo shrimp dish which was excellent. Our other person had the baked stuffed eggplant which he loved. The appetizers were excellent: octopus, broccoli rage... This is my favorite restaurant in Montreal. The food is always fresh. The service is first class. Whether you are seated inside or out the dining experience is outstanding. My favorite dish to have is the Lamb Ragu Sauce with Linguine. You won't be disappointed :) Cinzia from Montreal.

Had dinner reservations but got hungry earlier and wandered to restaurant. They were very accommodating and seated us much earlier. Our waiter suggested a wine and appetizer (zucchini flowers). Both were quite delicious. Main course was veal piccata which was tender and well presented.

My daughter and I ate inside and the decor was welcoming and cozy. The food was delicious. The waiter served meatballs as the amuse-bouche and they were great. I had the short rib with polenta, and my daughter had the gnocchi. both dishes were plentiful and decadent. We would eat here again!

A longtime favourite but aging very well. The service is impeccable and Aldo makes sure you feel welcome and specially well cared for. The food is original and superbly prepared and presented. The tastes are delightful exotic. Even the gnocchi con poutine was tasty far beyond its humble name. Wine list extraordinary but the waiters also suggest reasonable and appropriately.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
