Reasonable portion sizes, a bit pricey compared to other locations. Well worth the walk here and the service and food we received. Will recommend to anyone travelling Montreal!

Great Ruben Sandwiches! The corned beef was to die for. Service was fast and friendly. The desserts were very good and big, you must share with someone. I would go there again!

Went there to get my smoked meat fix during our 1 day in Montreal. I had the Club Roll; my dad had the Jumbo Smoked Meat. Both were huge, juicy, and delicious. Many, many other choices on the menu but why have pizza or pasta here when the smoked meat is so good?

We stumbled on Reuben's when we were tiring on busy rue St. Catherine. Even though we only ordered coffee and chopped liver, we were well treated by our server. The chopped liver was up to Jewish mother standards. Would go there again and try other dishes.

Reuben's offers an interesting dining experience in a classic 70's style restaurant. The smoked meat sandwich was delicious - my only complaint would be that all the meat is pushed to the front of the sandwich to appear even larger than it is. To finish our meal we had the towering cheesecake for dessert & it made our visit to... More

Very conveniently located downtown, with an original 1970s decor that delivers a nice dose of authenticity. To check off the two essential Montreal food experiences in one efficient meal, I picked up a smoked meat poutine for takeaway. Not knowing the sizes (small and large are offered), I ordered a large. Literally pounds of fries and cheese curds, completely blanketed... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
