Reuben's has an extensive menu. We ordered smoked meat sandwiches; they were huge & delicious. The dessert selection will make you drool; we highly recommend the chocolate layer cake. Don't miss out on this treasure - be sure to eat here if you're visiting downtown Montreal.

Arrived in Montreal beat from a long and early morning flight. We had the big breakfast and it was excellent. Delicious! We plan to have breakfast there all week. It is super cheap too.

Great deli sandwiches. Lots of smoked meat that surprising didn't fall out of the bread. Dill pickles and coleslaw were great traditional accompaniments. French fries were plentiful. Heard their cheesecakes are good but no room to try a slice. Maybe next time. Worth the trip down the stairs and if not go around the corner thru the office bldg. and... More

Visited in April, all of our food was very good, highly recommend the poutine, it is absolutely amazing. Our waiter was nice, and spoke both English and French. It is a higher end restaurant, so many of the foods are expensive, but definitely worth it!

I had a very good Montréal smoke meat sandwich and poutine. Went during lunch and it was lined up. They had room at the bar so I sat and in 15 mins I had order, my lunch served and water in hand. Great if you're in a hurry and quick if you have less than an hour to eat.

At first glance as you head down the stairs to the basement, we were a little apprehensive of the venue. We were promptly seated and our orders taken.....very prompt service in delivering the foods. What a meal.....nothing like I had ever tasted before....meal was served hot and lots of food. Needless to say, we made short work of the ample... More

A quick breakfast of fruit and yogurt hit the spot as we stared our day. The fruit was lovely and fresh. Service was fine. Diner type of ambiance and great central location.

Our hotel recommended Reuben's and we were not disappointed. The service was very friendly and attentive. We started with the homemade chips with the beer cheese dip. Very tasty! The Reuben sandwich is a must. Bring your appetite, the portions are very large.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
