Year after year we come back at Renoir for our business dinners. Close to downtown and our favorite hotels (including the Sofitel), with McGill University next door, the location on Sherbrooke street is ideal. This classy restaurant offers excellent fresh food with a good choice of wines, top-notch service and cozy atmosphere. What's not to like?

The research in culinary process and selection of native products. Good wine selection. I disliked the closing time of the bar.

The food options were varied and healthful. The presentation was simply amazing. We selected the Renoir continental. It came with fresh squeezed juice, a basket of pastries, smoked salmon,... More

I would like to commend this restaurant's chef for their efforts in pushing the boundaries of flavours. They do so in a very reasonable and interesting manner, and I was excited about trout with peaches and guinea fowl with grapefruit. The wine list is more popular than avant grade. It is varied and well chosen. Service is friendly and efficient.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
