We love the Hotel Sofitel, and are disappointed that we lost ours recently in the Twin Cities. But we recently had the chance to attend their outstanding Sunday brunch in Montreal. If you are here on a weekend, check it out!!

Expensive considering the menu. Food was prepared well but nothing very innovative. Wine list was fine, but I expected more

When you see the price of the brunch at the restaurant it might seem scary! However when you see the amazing and incredible selection you'll understand. They have fresh pastries, traditionnal breakfast food and an amazing seafood selection from fresh oyster to salmon and even estragon! The chef will also make waffles and omelettes how you like them! Great food

Restaurant Renoir follows a trend we have seen in London, England where restaurants like to list the number of calories intake is associated with their meals. At the renoir, we had Parmentier soup with apple and cardamom ($12) and the vegetable couscous with dried fruits, almond, tomato and saffron ($24) with a glass of wine that brought our total bill... The place is elegant, but has a big television for sports bar. It also has outdoor seating. The staff were helpful and great. We had breakfast which started with cappuccino and fruit berries for starter, then the Montreal breakfast egg benedict with fruit salad was so good. Serving portions were big. One of the best breakfast in Canada.

A group of 10 of us had dinner at Renoir after the Grand Prix. Annoyingly you cannot transfer the bar bill across to the restaurant but the bar man did bring the bill to me rather than my having to wait. The food was excellent - I had smoked salmon to start followed by bouillabaisse, which was quite thick but... More

Great service. French press coffee. Had the chia and egg white omelette and a chocolate croissant. Coffee was delish and hit the spot. Omelette was so so, kind of bland but healthy.

We traveled to Montréal over the weekend for the Hubby's uncle's wedding celebration. First trip (and an international one at that) with the little one TOO! AMAZING,even though our luggage did not show up till 12 hours after our arrival. What made this trip even better is that we got to stay at Sofitel, a luxury French hotel chain. My... More

The Sunday Brunch has to be my favorite in Montreal! So much selection! The freshness and quality of the food you're getting is top notch! It's buffet style and includes an Omelet station, waffle station (out of this world... And I don't even like waffles!), potatoes, meats, fish, seafood, cakes and pastries, fresh fruit and other baked goods. The service... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
