The food is not fabulous nor is it terrible. It is perfectly adequate. I would suggest it to those without an adventurous streak.

Went here based on trip advisor recommendations and they were right! Nice atmosphere, complementary bread was excellent, and live music entertainment. I had beet salad which was fabulous. Spaghetti bolognese was super. My husband had lamb which he enjoyed.

One of our regular stops when we visit Montreal. Genuinely nice staff, always pleasant and welcoming. The food is consistently good too. Try the mussels and fries, steak frites, or the lamb chops. You won't be disappointed and you will surely be back.

Hi Charles. Modavie's menu is geared toward adults. However, since this restaurant is not as formal as others in Old Town Montreal, a family with children would feel comfortable there, especially during lunch. I also... More

Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.
