Location and contact

Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.

One of the best experiences we’ve had! Maitre’d Lorenzo and server Caroline plus the food and music made the evening excellent!!! If you like lamb (and even if you don’t), give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Lorenzo, Juliane. . . amazing. We're new residents and I believe we have found our 'regular' spot, even though we now live in the heart of what I believe is the best city in North American with literally hundreds of great spots. The quality of...More

White table clothes, live music, Old Montreal, incredible service and good food. Large restaurant but busy all the time. Make a reservation and plan on two or three hours for dinner. Classy and cool.

My husband took me here for my birthday. Luckily he had booked a table, as the place filled up very quickly. Our waitress was Alexandre, and she was very attentive, with a happy smiley face. The service was excellent. Sara Latendresse was singing, and the...More

I noticed that a majority of 5-star reviews mention Lorenzo, the maître D, and these reviewers only have 1 review in Trip Advisor. I find this sketchy, maybe they are all Lorenzo’s friends & family. I wouldn’t trust these reviews. I ordered the Mediterranean Penne...More

Service is very prompt and friendly. Food is very good. We liked the calamari and the catch of the day as well as the sides including risotto. Lovely ambience with live music. Restaurant was full, so would recommend a reservation.

This restaurant is really pretty inside. Staff is very friendly. Food is delicious - don't let the prices keep you from going - it is worth it! Portions are very generous!

A lot of entertainment. We stopped in for a cocktail and wished we would have planned to have dinner there. Very cool atmosphere and the food looked amazing!

Somehow trip advisor always forwards future customers’ questions to raters rather than the restaurant itself!! Not sure what private dining means. It’s rustic and busy but if you get a window table, it could be romantic.
