My work colleague and I had a short time frame to enjoy dinner on a Friday night. It was early, 6:30, and the crowd was pretty stodgy. Service was fast, friendly, and competent. Food was AWESOME. The tataki-style fish, the sashimi, the dumplings were so delicious. So was the strawberry daquiri, which was fresh and handmade. I'd go again if... More

The place was okay at best. We ordered off both menus. We went there for a specific sushi and they didn't have either of them, which was very disappointing. Every single sushi roll we ordered fell apart as you were picking it up. I had the tataki salmon and it was good but pretty pricey for the quantity. There are... More

Once a month or so, my daughter and I have lunch at Miso. The staff is great (today's young lady was very nice and efficient). I had a mixture of small appetizers and my daughter had a bento box (chicken). Everything is fresh, nicely presented and very tasty. There was an error with our order and both our waiter and... Went here on a friday night, just looking for a quick meal. Ended up having the gyoza and a dynamite roll. The vegetarian (1 guest) and gluten free (another guest) were fantastic. Wait staff was efficient - not overly friendly, but also not aloof. Just nice enough! The dynamite roll, was, well, dynamite. Probably the best I've ever had. Would... More

I've been to Miso a handful of times and really enjoy the food and atmosphere but whenever our office wants to order sushi, we exclusively order from them. The food is very good quality and the lunch specials are perfect size for a good value. The kitchen items on the menu are on the small side but honestly if you're... More

For a landlubber like me, their sushi pizza appetizer was excellent! Not often that I eat sushi. They do offer main courses that deviate from the sea and I partook in that, enjoying a chicken sandwich and fries (excellent). Service was attentive and good, prices were reasonable for a sit down restaurant.

I guess we should have stuck to sushi. Overall, food was OK, but I don’t want OK when I pay that much (over $100 before wine/taxes/tip). We wanted to try different things and it cost us. Soup is not worth mentioning. Lobster salad with grilled pineapple is at most acceptable, but there is nothing grilled in it (you won’t taste... More

We ordered a mix of sashimi and maki with oysters as an appetizer. All the food was delicious and it came in a timely manner, although it was not very busy at the time (Monday night). The service was great.

My wife and I go once a month or so. Great food in a restaurant where you can hear yourself. Different from Imadake two doors down. Depends on your mood.

Miso is one of my family's favorite places. The cuisine is Asian fusion, although the influence is mostly japanese. The sushi is fresher and tastier than others in Montreal, the hot food is excellent. If you don't mind spicy food, ask for the lemongrass soup; it is hot (and no, I am not talking about temperature) and extremely tasty. My... More

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
