This is just a perfect place for sushi lovers! Combined for myself a meal of 2 maki rolls (4+6) and 3 sashimi (scallop, squid, tuna) and a warm sake. Service was kind and quick. Sushi was tasty and beautiful. Sashimi was heavenly delightful. Want to come back!

Definitely from the best restaurants I've ever been to. I took some family and friends there and we had a splendid evening. From the drinks to the food, we tried most of the menu. One dish better than the last. A uniquely different menu with generous variety. Presentation was impeccable and service top notch. A must try restaurant.

The reception is friendly and they have a lot of special dishes. It makes it difficult to choose, so we let them to advise us. We got good advices, for we enjoyed our dishes very much. The only thing we didn't like were the high prices.

Maiko beats Kyo easily. Friendly and knowledgeable waiter. And more important: brilliant food. I'm so happy we followed the waiter's recommendation. The fatty belly part of the tuna was the best I ever had. Not very Japanese, but still good: the blueberry mojito. Go there and findout for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

There are some more inventive/unusual sushi spots in the area (Ryu, Juni, etc)... but when you are craving a really good mainstream sushi place, this is the spot. We eat there and order from there all the time. Fresh, reliable, consistent. Try the pizza sushi!

This is my second time at Maiko. It is quite pricey by Montreal standards but worth it. All plates are made to order, which may result in some waiting but the final result is amazing. Presentation is impeccable and sushi taste is one of the best in Montreal. You can order à la carte from a very long list, or... More

Maiko definitely makes the best sushi in town. I love the service, the food and the atmosphere. It's always fresh and I never had any complaints. I would definitely try the tempura and the delice Maiko, it's great!

Ordered the wagyu appetizer so far so good, wagyu melts in your mouth but can only be cooked well done and only had 3 slices for 25$ a little overpriced and then ordered accupuntured snapper, half raw lobster, bonito, spicy tuna and shinsen Uni , snapper was really good but not as good as the accupuntured snapper from park, the... We ordered a 7 varieties of makis from the menu and ended up with a bunch of makis that essentially had no fish but were all packed with rice, cucumber, a bit of avocado, and crispy tempura. Paying $80 for that is just insulting. When I mentioned to the waiter that all the makis had too much rice, he said... More

Staying in Outremont

Neighborhood Profile
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theater productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighborhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
