My husband and I stopped by this charming bistro for a quick bite and enjoyed our meal on the walk-street terrace so much, we spent the evening. The food was excellent and very reasonable and the wine selection was a delightful surprise. The attention to every dining detail could only come from passionate owners who love what they do and... We went here last night to celebrate our nephews birthday who will be 10 and there were 6 of us. The food was amazing. The lamb is what most of us had and boy, still drooling over it! They were kind and brought out a creme brûlée with a candle for our nephew and some sort of firey dessert for... More

Visited this restaurant for the second time a few weeks ago and it exceeded my memories. It was delicious and authentic french cuisine. We had a large party and our waiter and overall service was spectacular. They had a special for splitting a large piece of steak (50oz?) among several people which we did and it was delicious. Best steak... More

Located on a pedestrian only street, we were attracted by the promise of french food and the multi level restaurant. We had a reservation but the maître d was not welcoming, told us the upper levels were closed for the evening(7 pm) and placed at at a very cramped petite table. Our server, was brand new but friendly. The meal... More

After a long trip, we just wanted an easy meal. We received a recommendation from the manager of our hotel an easy walk, good food and at a reasonable price. He was correct on all three. We shared an assortment of entrees, followed by a single main course. None disappointed, fresh and clean tasting food with a great wine to... More

We arrived without a reservation and were seated promptly in the preferred patio area. As a party of three we shared the salmon appetizer. Delicious. The warmed bread for the table was perfectly chewy and crusty. Two of us had the steak which was cooked perfectly to order. My wife had the duck confit which was moist and tasty. The... More

A delightful cafe located along Rue Prince Arthur (a pedestrian walkway). You can sit and watch the world stroll by while eating delicious food. We had excellent duck, hanger steak, and (especially) cod. Excellent creme brulee for desset. Along with the very attentive staff, this was a lovely dining experience. Me and my boyfriend decided to get our final meal in Canada at a French/Belgian style restaurant (we're Belgians), to get away from the greasier Canadian style food :). A perfect limited menu, fresh produce and pure cuisine. He had steak (cooked perfectly saignant) and I had salmon tartare. We loved it, and Ben too, a very courteous owner. Would... More

We visited this bistro based on Trip Advisor reviews and its convenient location just south of Square St. Louis park on Rue Prince Arthur E. We had very well prepared lobster, which included nice local vegetables. We were located in the sidewalk cafe portion of the restaurant, with many strollers going by on Prince Arthur E. The wait staff was... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
