After reading the great reviews we had to try. We went Friday evening early. By 6:30 it was nearly full. My wife and I had the TAj thali each ($30). It included papadum, onion baji, Dahl, naan, reiter, cucumber salad, rice and a dish of you choice plus desert. I chose the chicken tikka masala. It was quite nice. My... More

Lovely restaurant with good food. Close to the Omni hotel and McGill. Reservations needed. Crowded and a bit noisey.

We went for dinner. The taste is really good, especially the lamb and the nann. However, the portion is a bit too small.

A good restaurant like this in the middle of downtown is hard to find. The lunch buffet is amazing. Food is tasty well seasoned and quiet a good choice. There are fresh salads, cooked vegetables, a soup, curry's, samosas, pakoras, rice, naan bread, sweets and fruit. The restaurant is very well decorated, service is good. I totally recommend it.

Decor is out this world, the staff propper and clean, professional. Everything is sublime from the menus- (food, and dessert menu) which is a piece of art in your hands, the dishes custom made, tables, and even the folder that you bill is placed in..top notch. Needs to work on the washroom area. One of the sinks weren't working and... More

I chose this resto based on the info on Trip Advisor. The food is good, service is OK, the prices are somehow related to downtown location. Not very expensive but not cheap either.

From the moment we arrived to our good byes, the service and friendly and professional throughout the evening. The food was very good. The naan bread is the absolute best I've ever had in Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver. It was light and fluffy with great texture and not burnt on any part of it! The flavours were authentic and the... Great place for a dinner of spicy Indian. We spent the weekend in Montreal and were looking for an alternative to all of the bistro-style food we had been having. It was a small dining room but packed for a Sunday night. The vegetable thali was excellent, as was the lamb vindaloo. Although people should be warned that "medium" is... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
