I recently moved to a new office just around the cornet from this restaurant and have been three times - twice for dinner and once for lunch - during the past year. It features what i would call traditional Provencal fare, with an old-school emphasis on the little things like a very hot plate, and waiters who know their trade.... More

From the moment you walk in the experience is authentic. The service is classic, complete with coat check. I had the stag medallions and they were absolutely excellent. I would highly recommend this for French cuisine.

We visited this restaurant over a year ago and forgot to write a review. It is still a memorable experience for us. The service was impeccable, atmosphere was incredible and the food was unforgettable. Highly recommend going here, you will enjoy it and the memory of it will last forever.

My fiance and I had the 5-course tasting menu. Every dish was sublime. The service was excellent and each course came out promptly. I would definitely return and ambiance is also great☺

When one dines at this wonderful French bistro in the heart of down town Montreal, one experiences great food, great wine, a great ambience and great service. The "patron" Jacques is always there, apron and all, chatting with and making sure that his clientele is happy and satisfied. While all of the waiters are wonderful, my favourite is Dominique, an... We have dined at Le Mas des Oliviers at least 25 times in the past 3 years. Every meal, service, and ambiance feel as if you are at a tiny, intimate Paris Bistro. The waiters are from France, the service is warm and friendly, the food and desserts are m-m-m-mouth-watering! Last evening we were 5 guests - I had the... More

Fantastic service. Great Food. Fine wine. What more could you ask for? Easy to get to location on Bishop St. Scary front door entrance, but great set-up inside. Would be a great upscale date or anniversary treat. I was there for a business dinner and was impressed. We ordered wine by the glass and the pour was very generous (three... More

Traditional French food in a traditional environment. We ordered the steak au poivre and it was very good. The place is on the expensive side, but then again it is a landmark. Creme brule was excellent as expected. Wine selection was good, a bit pricey. Go at least once.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
