My husband and I ordered a different crepe each from the regular menu -- even though there was a brunch menu which was cheaper. The crepes were so-so but not cheap -- my seafood crepe was $27 plus tax. We spotted this place when we were walking around and peeped in and saw what a fantastic and unique place this... More

We went there for lunch and they had no room on their lovely front porch, so they directed us to their courtyard.... And wow! Multiple levels, with these sail like roofs providing shade, beautiful flowers and plants everywhere, with live background music from a piano and base player, just an absolutely lovely setting. The restaurant was busy, but the staff... More

The atmosphere is so interesting as there is a live jazz band as you dine amongst flowers. The food is so delicious and the staff is very friendly. The rose and peach sangria was the best sangria I have ever had. Amazing restaurant.

We have been coming to Montreal for many summers and one stop we always make is to the front patio if Jardin Nelson for a pitcher of sangria. This year it was a pitcher of peach and WOW was it fantastic. The food is ok - there are better places to eat around Montreal, but on a hot afternoon if... More

By accident we tried Jardin Nelson. We were looking for a shaded place to eat out of the hot sun and came upon Jardin Nelson that had a beautiful spacious terrace inside surrounded by plants and flowers. We both had a pitcher of really refreshing basil lemonade and warm salmon and lime salads with vermicelli noodles. The flavors were complimentary... More

The menu was diverse and my wife and I started with brie fondue which was perfect. I had rabbit/fig crepes, very tasty. All of the pizzas were raved about by others around us and looked wonderful. We had two small pitchers of sangria, different flavors. The restaurant was built between buildings and 'seemed to be indoors', but was not. Multiple... More

Loved being "outdoors" but protected from the weather. The food was excellent, the music was jazzy and the service top notch. We would return for sure.

Beautiful place, delicious food, good service. Must eat inside the courtyard. Jazz music every night. I cannot remember the name of the meal I had. Ingredients included rabbit, fig in a port wine. Delicious!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
