Already knew Baton Rouge in Toronto since 2012. Wanted to get back the taste, definitely not up to the standard used to be. Order made, side dish did not came along, even if restaurant was not that busy. Salmon portion was like "nouvelle cuisine"... very small and overpriced. Staff friendly but impersonal.

We decided to have dinner here because the décor looked great, food not so much. There were 4 of us for supper (Oct 11) and 2 of us ordered the ribs and lobster tail combo. This was recommended by the server as a signature selection. When I received my meal, I sampled the garlic mashed potatos which had no taste... More

We went to Baton Rouge on recommendation of the concierge of our hotel and were very disappointed. We were a party of 4 with our 2 teenaged sons. When our older son placed his order the waiter told him they were out of his choice and offered no explanation or apology. He had tried to order the steak sandwich and... More

We stopped in before the Adele show at the Bell Center. We decided to eat at the bar and Anthony was very friendly and was able to answer our questions about the menu. I decided to follow the recommendation of the maitre de and ordered the tuna. I was disappointed as it tasted fishy (old). My wife ordered a salad... More

The service and food are very good. The ribs are sauced generously, so request less sauce if that's preferred. Table seating is available inside and outside.

We've all experienced the delightful experience of a North American steakhouse, and the long-term financial damage it does. Not Baton Rouge. It's quite handy, especially in winter, being part of the Complexe Desjardin shopping/hotel/office complex with underground parking and accessible by subway trains. The menu boasts the usual meat and seafood dishes typical of a steakhouse in North America. Portions... More

The food was excellent. We all ordered steaks. I put goat cheese on my which made it even better. There was three of us and we had cocktails, an appetizer , and steaks and it was 300. It is a loud atmosphere. Seems like a great place to go for ribs. It is extremely close to the Hyatt which is... More

Recommended by our hotel concierge. Very busy and popular on a weekend night but no wait around 7 PM. Prices from upper teens and up. All four of us had the $19 or so rib eye steak and found it to be a good choice. Great atmosphere. Across the street elegantly dressed people were showing up for the opera and... More

The ribs fall off the bone and are very flavorful. The waiter was funny and kept us entertained during the entire time.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
