This place is so lovely: service, food, wine - it's all just right. We've eaten here many times over the past 25 years and it's always a delight. We often make our own selection of mezzes (little entrées or appetizers to share) but yesterday we ordered Tazka Royale - a selection of mezzes made for you (you can make a... More

This lebanese restaurant always amazing food. I've never been disappointed. The owners are very attentive and take the time to explain the items on the menu. They make you feel like you are part of the family. This is a lovely place for a nice dinner.

We were served with Lebanese roasted nuts with variety mixes. We enjoyed several appetizers like chicken, shrimps, rice, salads such as the tabbouleh and fattoush, together with dip such as hummus, baba ghanoush, All was extremely fresh and made from scratch. Very little quaint place. The baklava dessert and Lebanese coffee was delicious as well. The Fakra wine was delicious... More

This was my second visit to Aux Lilas. From the moment you step into this cozy little restaurant you feel like you have stepped into a little piece of Lebanese heaven. Greeted warmly by the owner we were immediately shown our table and brought a mixture of nuts to devour while perusing the extensive menu. I can't say enough about... More

My husband and I went here on a Saturday night and there were 6 people in the restaurant, in an old basement, with old carpets, and old looking lamps with the music so low, we were able to hear the conversation of pp 15 ft away from us. It's no wonder there wasn't any wait staff. We were served by... More

Revisited this old favourite on Valentine's night. As always, it felt like stepping straight into a restaurant in Lebanon. Park Avenue fades away as the owner puts a little bowl of aromatic almonds and pistachios in front of you. You nibble as you peruse the varied and reasonably priced menu. Service by the owner is attentive but unhurried. Don't come... More

This was our second visit after a long while. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was abundant and tasty. The restaurant specializes in Lebanese cuisine and each plate is homemade. We had vegetarian Tazka, which consists of a variety of delightful appetizers. We decided to accompany the meal with a Lebanese Chateau Kefraya, which was excellent. Incidentally the wine list... My boyfriend found this restaurant online. We were going for a show at the Rialto and it's next door. I absolutely loved it ! Tried Lebanese wine for the first time.. loved it ! The service and food were out of this world. We are definitely going back. Aux Lilas .. Is now one of my top Montreal restaurants.

Staying in Outremont

Neighborhood Profile
Outremont
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theater productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighborhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
