I had lots of soup in Montreal and this place has some of the best. Convenient to my B&B and always a great clientele and atmosphere. They also have EXCELLENT desserts and I recommend a to-go/take away for later!

The sandwiches are simply AMAZING! I'm a vegetarian and they have plenty of options; but I also tried a few while I was eating meat and they are delicious... all of them! The Terra is particularly good... And the salsa is great too. As for the cakes... YUM!! Honestly, it's one of my favorite restaurant to go to. The drinks... More

We visited this cafe next to our hotel on St. Denis. I believe this location needs to be updated. We came in during the busy Saturday lunch rush. We were greeted but after waiting a while, had to track down our server to order. We continued to have to track down our server for refills on coffee, water, etc. However,... More

Be prepared to wait a long time for anything. This little cafe is busy, a testament to their good food and deserts. The drinks are interesting, the sandwiches delicious. Good coffee and the people are mostly friendly to tourists. The only problem was the service. We had to get up and ask for everything, the waters, coffee refills, checking up... More

Hello, I saw your comment about the wait at KILO Bistro. I am one of the new owner who took it over (March 2011). We sincerely hope to welcome you again and that you will be served much faster. We are working hard to provide a much better and quicker service. Therefore, come again and we sincerely hope you will... More

The cake is pretty good. The coffee is great. And they give you a little delicious lollipop with some drinks. From this candy lover to all those out there: the lollipop is exquisite. Cakes are a little on the more expensive side if you're like me and usually spend 5 bucks max on a meal, but the place makes up... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
