This restaurant provides several interesting extra bites before you order. The risotto in squid ink is amazing. The presentation of the courses is very unusual and original. The tasting menus--both the vegetarian and regular--are truly excellent. This is a long, leisurely meal for a special occasion. Our meal took over three hours. The wine list is extensive, but pricey.

Spectacular as usual. Easily among the top 3 tables in Montreal, which is no small feat given the calibre of kitchens in this city. Outstanding value for money, every meal comes with a plethora of small bouchées and entremets, each more delicate and refined than the other. Calarami entrée served in a stone bowl shredded to resemble tagliatelle was out... More

We had the taster. I would say that maybe one dish lived up to what you would find in a top London restaurant. It seems that presentation, texture and trickery to impress far outweighs balance and quality. Two of the dishes had good ingredients but were spoiled by overpowering with strong beetroot content. The wine pairing was whacky and left... More

Europea is a lovely restaurant known for its tasting menus that include several extra bites. But I have to say I was not impressed. Although the menu described the dishes in artistic and creative terms, I didn't feel that there any mind-blowing tastes. The foie gras starter was just a couple of pieces of foie gras, served with some sort... More

Europea in Montreal is a world wide top 10 restaurant. The service is beyond outstanding. Roxan, the Sommelier, Alex, our server, and Alex his assistant were exceptional. The food presentation is creative and beautiful and so delicious that we just had to eat everything. This dining experience in unforgettable. I would return to Montreal just to dine at Europea. Kudos... More

This was our third time and it gets better each time...be ware of the cheese offering...it is an extra charge to an already pricey menu. The only down side was we knew what to expect...so I will let you all be surprised! :) A must in Montreal!

The most incredible, well thought out dinner of my life. Presentation is perfect, unique plates with awesome tastes, they smoke the salmon in a wooden book in front of you! Very worth it!

Awesome culinary experience! We ordered 2 signature tasting menues. Such a creative presentation! Coupled with impeccable service. Wait staff accommodated our seat change request from a high traffic area to a quieter area downstaires. Pace of service was just right - even though it took about 3 hours start to finish, you don't feel dragged out. It was less about... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
